About the role
As a Mortgage Loan Officer with Zillow Home Loans, we provide you leads on-demand, allowing you to focus more on your client and less on your marketing and branding. Key Responsibilities:
- Originate mortgage loans, guiding borrowers through the process, ensuring compliance, and providing all vital documentation for underwriting, processing, and funding.
- Answer and manage company-provided incoming digital leads, delivering outstanding customer service through timely follow-up and professional, courteous correspondence.
- Manage multiple leads and loans within SLAs, ensuring timely follow-up and efficient processing while communicating effectively via phone, email, and text.
- Establish and build relationships with customers and partners, such as real estate agents, while analyzing client needs to ensure compliance and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all transactions follow applicable laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
- Maintain active licensing, complete required education/training, and stay current on regulatory changes and loan program knowledge.
- This role involves the collection, storage, and use of your voiceprints (records of speech).
- Perform other duties as assigned
This role has been designated as an office-based position. Employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of, but not more than 75 miles from, their designated ZHL branch location. The percentage of time you will be required to work in an office each week will be designated in advance and approved by your HRBP and manager.
In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role are eligible for incentive compensation. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.
This role has been categorized as an Office position. "Office" employees regularly work at an existing ZG corporate office for approximately 80 to 100 percent of their time each month. Employees must live within reasonable commuting distance of their designated ZG office. This role has been designated as an Office-based position. In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $12.00 - $25.00 Hourly. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role are eligible for incentive compensation and equity awards. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

You are passionate about consultative selling and building lasting client relationships, excelling in a phone-based sales environment and converting digital leads into funded loans. Role Requirements:
- 1+ years of mortgage origination experience as an active NMLS Loan Originator with multiple state licenses, or a Loan Originator working under a bank license (required)
- Successfully completed the 20-hr SAFE Pre-licensing Education and passed the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test - National Component with Uniform State Content (required)
- Excel in a lead-provided, phone sales environment, confidently converting leads into funded loans through clear and effective communication via phone, email, text, and other channels
- Proven track record in funding mortgage originations and consistently meeting or exceeding production targets
- In-depth knowledge of available loan programs, including FHA, VA, Conventional, ARM, Jumbo, and others, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
- Flexible, adaptable, and quick to learn new processes, always looking for opportunities to improve
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
