Studio Z, Zillow's in-house creative agency, is seeking an experienced script writer and on-camera talent to elevate our editorial video program. This role sits on the Content team, which develops engaging educational content to help consumers and real estate pros. About the role
This role offers the chance to become a highly visible presence within the nation's leading real estate tech brand. Working with various teams, you'll write and host short- and long-form videos on all aspects of real estate for a diverse audience. These videos might explain closing costs to first-time home buyers, or offer tips to agents on how to grow their business.

You Will Get To:
- Develop long- and short-form video scripts, including on-screen graphics and copy, out of existing reports or new insights from the team.
- Partner with producers, designers, editors, and motion graphics artists to storyboard new videos.
- Appear on set at regular shoots in our Seattle studio (and potentially other locations) to host videos and interview experts on camera.
- Work with our in-house Production team on editing, graphics, and publication of the videos.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand the latest trends in the housing market, home design, and more.
- Evolve our video strategy and practice, with the goal of delivering genuine help while growing awareness of Zillow's products and services.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $88,200.00 - $140,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
- An experienced content creator or digital or TV journalist skilled in the best practices of writing for YouTube and other social platforms.
- A seasoned on-camera presence who excels at both reading from a teleprompter and ad-libbing.
- A meticulous writer who can tell data-driven stories accurately in clear, vibrant language, and responds nimbly to constructive feedback.
- A warm and insightful on-screen presence who can empathize with audiences representing a wide range of geographies, incomes, demographics, and aesthetic preferences.
- A team player who enjoys collaborating with other creatives and working on set with a small but mighty digital crew.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in nonfiction video storytelling through a successful social channel and/or experience in a professional media setting.
- Real estate knowledge is helpful but not required.
- Experience filming yourself with a phone or camera is a plus, as is familiarity with remote capture programs like Riverside.

While this is a remote role, it will require semi-frequent travel to our Seattle office studio and possibly elsewhere for video shoots.
