Yext is seeking a top tier Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for the monthly close process of revenue and commissions, including items such as revenue recognition, unearned revenue, deferred commissions, accounts receivables, management reporting, team development and process improvement. This role will work closely with members of the Revenue Systems, General Ledger, Deal Desk, Legal and FP&A teams. The ideal candidate must have experience with and strong understanding of US GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 340-40, internal controls, and team management. This role will oversee a global team of 3, with members located in India and Philippines. The successful candidate will be someone who is excited to go beyond the traditional accounting responsibilities of close and work in a team to help grow and scale the company.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the day to day activities of the revenue accounting team focusing on process improvements, automation and analysis of business results to support the company’s growth
  • Manage the month-end close and reporting process for revenue, accounts receivable, allowances, deferred revenue and commissions to ensure an accurate and timely revenue close
  • Work closely with Deal Desk, Billing Operations and customer facing commercial teams to engage in active deal negotiations and perform accounting assessment to ensure alignment on process, controls and proper revenue recognition
  • Own company’s revenue recognition and commissions accounting policies, ensuring compliance on a day to day basis.
  • Initiate reviews and analysis to provide business insights and respond to inquiries from senior management
  • Manage external auditors for annual audit and quarterly review requirements
  • Review financial statement footnotes and disclosures related to revenue, accounts receivable, deferred revenue, commissions and allowances
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support company-wide initiatives, such as new product launches to ensure compliance with US GAAP
  • Support ongoing M&A activity, such as post acquisition integration activities
  • Coach, mentor and develop a high performing global team
  • This role will require international travel.

What You Have

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA or equivalent professional designation 
  • 7+ years of total experience with 3 or more years of public accounting firm experience combined with relevant revenue accounting experience in the SaaS or software industry
  • Knowledge of Accounting Standard ASC 606 is a must
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization and manage relationships with external parties
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate teams, including on an international, cross-cultural basis
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with a sharp focus on details
  • Ability to work with different business units in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, develop an understanding of business processes and understand/discuss implications on the financial statements
  • Interest in building and refining processes and contributing to a scaling business operation
  • Ability to recognize problems, gather data, draw valid conclusions and effectively present information to managers, peers and customers
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and be flexible as priorities shift
  • High degree of dedication to continuous improvement and strong sense of ownership
  • Experience with NetSuite, Zuora, RevPro and Salesforce or equivalent systems is required

Pay ranges at Yext are established based on an analysis of salaries for positions with a similar level of accountability and impact in the relevant labor market. Salary levels are expected to change to reflect an employee’s job performance (results and impact) over time. Salaries at the time of hire are typically offered in the lower to middle of the above-referenced range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect performance-based increases over time. In addition to base salaries, employees at Yext are typically eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental and vision benefits; life insurance; short term and long-term disability; 401(k) retirement plan; and vacation and sick leave. Successful candidates may also be eligible for equity (stock) based compensation and/or variable pay programs based on performance relative to goals and targets.


Annual Base Pay Range
$80,550$147,500 USD
