Group Manager, Commercial Risk and Operations

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Group Manager, Commercial Risk & Operations to join our Financial Services team in Marietta, GA. The Group Manager, Commercial Risk & Operations will be a member of the Commercial Finance senior leadership team and will be responsible for leading portfolio servicing, risk management, and relationship management for the captive wholesale finance business. They will have budget responsibility and will be responsible for executing business strategies and direction as established in Yamaha's mid-term plan. To support this vision, the position will lead servicing operations, systems and administration functions of YMFUS; in parallel, the Group Manager will lead the organizational and infrastructure design to ensure internal operational capabilities are effective. This position will work closely with Product Group partners and strategic external relationships to ensure YMFUS programs are aligned to meet the sales, profit and market needs of YMUS, YMFUS, dealers, strategic partners, and customers establishing Yamaha as the industry leader of financial products and services.

What you'll be doing:

  • Establish direction for the leadership of the company's $1 billion Wholesale Finance portfolio; accountable for operational effectiveness and optimizing Net Operating Income. Manage budgets and KPIs; monitor performance and report on results to Executive Management.
  • Partner with senior management from various product groups, YMFUS departments, and external partners to develop and implement finance programs to meet company goals and dealer needs. Guide development of programs with these groups and assure compliance with internal servicing standards and policies.
  • Develop, guide and lead team of managers and assigned staff to create strong organizational culture.
  • Lead relationships with key business partners to optimize the effectiveness and minimize cost of operations.
  • Guide and direct operations of YMFUS wholesale finance servicing.
  • Create and implement future growth opportunities leveraging wholesale finance outside of traditional Yamaha Motor applications (e.g., third parties)
  • Represent Yamaha and Yamaha Financial Services at company events, dealer events, and industry events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Finance or Accounting required. MBA preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years wholesale/commercial financial services experience in Automotive, Recreation, Consumer Durable or Banking Industry.
  • Proven leadership skills within a complex organizational structure, creating clarity of vision and shared values
  • Management of operations-focused organization optimizing efficiencies with employee morale
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills, preferably with experience in a multi-cultural environment
  • Possess a hands-on management style with the ability to successfully prioritize, organize and manage multiple and often competing tasks
  • Energetic and enthusiastic leader with the ability to manage individuals, groups and teams; results and collaborative, team-oriented management philosophy required
  • Proven track record of developing high-performing organizations
  • Proven success in evaluating, developing and implementing new strategic business plans/relationships
