The Business Development Analyst for Industry Groups core function is to provide essential tactical support to the fast-paced Business Development team that drives business development and marketing for the firm's Fintech, AI, E-Gaming, NewSpace, Sustainability, and Climate industry groups ("the industry groups").

This individual will play an integral role, working directly with partners and associates in raising the profile of these groups, both internally and externally, and supporting initiatives that contribute to client and pipeline development. The position will work closely with the entire business development and marketing team, drawing on those resources to deliver and measure the results of initiatives and campaigns for the relevant industry groups. This role reports to the Senior Business Development Manager for Industry Groups.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support and drive marketing and business development initiatives for the industry groups
- Prepare compelling marketing and business development collateral, including basic and highly tailored pitch materials
- Conduct in-depth research on markets, technologies, companies, and individuals for the industry group attorneys
- Support the Business Development team's pitch tracking and reporting activities
- Help track and maintain key attorney matters for the experience database
- Participate in the successful production and execution of client events, speaking engagements, and sponsorships, including analyzing attendee lists, preparing tailored materials, supporting attorney follow-up, and tracking outcomes and activities in the CRM system
- Collaborate with the firmwide business development team to support and drive industry, practice, and technology innovation initiatives
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm business development function supporting practices and/or industry groups
- Strong customer service ethic
- Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written
- Extremely detail-oriented, with superior proofreading and fact checking skills
- Efficient, highly organized and ability to stay productive under pressure with tight deadlines
- Proficiency with MS Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Aptitude for learning new software, systems, databases, and procedures quickly
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Self-motivated, positive attitude, and a deep curiosity about technology, life sciences, and the new energy economy
- Ability to travel and attend key events and meetings on occasion
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- Position is ideally based in our Washington DC, New York, Palo Alto, or San Francisco offices, but this is negotiable
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations are also listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate's qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:
San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $81,600 - $110,400 per year
Austin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: $73,100 - $98,900 per year
Salt Lake City and all other locations: $65,450 - $88,550 per year
The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
