A Brief Overview
Production Managers are responsible for overseeing and leading a team of supervisors and a department of indirect reports that are responsible for the execution of production orders. Reporting to a senior leader they are responsible for driving a world class supply chain operation by overseeing the results for meeting customer and WWT requirements. Responsibilities include leading, developing, planning, and directing staff in support of department goals and objectives. This individual also applies a continuous improvement mindset, makes recommendations on process and/or system enhancements and propagates a continuous improvement culture across the team.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage a team with various levels of leadership & technicians ensuring all service levels are met or exceeded
- Use data to standardize, improve, or change the process to deliver operational excellence
- Control costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of lab area, and purchases
- Selects, develops, motivates, and appraises employees qualified to attain the objectives of the position, using WWT job performance matrix
- Manages performance and behavior of direct reports through effective 1:1 meetings, coaching and mentorship
- Coach and develop supervisors and associates on career paths for internal promotion and job enrichment opportunities
- Motivate employees to achieve the perfect customer experience, service level agreements and targeted quality and productivity goals
- Participates in recruitment and selection activities including role modeling through hiring decisions and processes
- Facilitate and manage change management initiatives.
- Monitors operational efficiency and making proactive adjustments to improve efficiency and scale labor where necessary
- Drives cross functional teams though continuous improvement initiatives in current and future business opportunities
- Oversees Production responsibilities of a program or multiple programs, using WWT tools and processes, to meet corporate and customer statement of work objectives
- Services internal and external customer escalation issues, providing proactive solutions/mitigation action plans
- Develops and drives execution to KPI's designated for program and customer measurements
- Develops and implements operational strategies that meet business objectives
- Reviewing operational reports to identify trends and ensure operations are running smoothly
- Coordinating operational performance to ensure adherence to maintaining customer delight
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor always portraying their department and company in a positive light and effectively managing sensitive issues
- Demonstrates excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently while using departmental resources, policies, and procedures
- Implement communications strategy across their respective department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years in a Manufacturing or Production environment
- 3+ years' experience in leading a team, including leading leaders and/or supervisors
- Basic understanding of LEAN methodology and concepts is strongly preferred.

- This role includes assignment of work for specific WWT customers. Some customers have specific on-boarding requirements, including background check and drug testing requirements that go beyond WWT's requirements. Ability to meet these requirements may be necessary for continued employment, depending on needs of the department.
