What will you be doing?

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing, dynamic, and friendly Legal and Compliance department of a fast-paced, global IT systems integrator. We are looking for someone with a passion for organization and customer delight, reporting directly to the company's Senior Manager, Global ESG & Business Continuity.

The Business Continuity Specialist is a global role responsible for supporting the Business Continuity Program. The role will collaborate with operational leaders and teams to develop and implement plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions.

This role will require maintaining and testing business continuity, IT Disaster Recovery (DR) and Crisis Management plans. The successful candidate should be proactive, able to work autonomously, hardworking and focused, enjoy being challenged, have strong written and oral communication skills, be quick to learn new tools, and demonstrate sound and pragmatic judgment in a variety of situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains the Company's business continuity plans and procedures.
  • Works with stakeholders to review, revise, expand, and improve existing plans and protocols.
  • Conducts risk assessments for various functions and operational departments including analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters, security breach, legal claims, and other market disruptions.
  • Manages and maintains Crisis Management plans and team rosters.
  • Collaborates with IT staff to develop and implement IT DR plans to protect and restore data access and network systems impacted as a result of an event, such as, natural disasters, viruses, malware, and hackers.
  • Identifies and implements recovery operations and priority methods to allow the Company to function at limited or partial capacity in the event that part or all of the infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.
  • Identifies risks that can be mitigated and works with stakeholders to consult and implement.
  • Creates and facilitates exercise drills for all plans annually.
  • Develops and provides staff training on business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Supports and demonstrates the Company's expertise in managing our Business Continuity programs to third-party auditors, customer due diligence reviews, RFP/RFQ responses, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Excellent collaborative, communication, strategic, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think through hypothetical situations and concepts and to identify risks and weaknesses in various business processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Continuity, Risk Management, Emergency Management, or similar field required
  • Business Continuity certification a plus
  • Minimum of five years of business continuity/DR experience
  • Fusion Risk Management Framework a plus
