Are you a leader energized by building high-impact senior leader relationships, curating elite programs, and developing business for a growth organization? Then the World 50 Groups' Community of Practice Leader role may be the role of a lifetime! Each membership community is led by a Practice Leader (Director) dedicated to building and leading a community of executives representing the top in their fields. We seek passionate leaders to work with some of the most senior executives and functional executives of leading businesses.

The Practice Leader must deliver skills across three key areas to create new value for C-level executives from leading organizations around the world:

  • Relationship Management - Quickly develop strong, positive relationships akin to being a trusted advisor and confidant
  • World-Class Program Curator - Design, develop, and deliver a unique, elite knowledge-sharing program across physical and virtual formats
  • Business Development - Grow the membership by demonstrating strategic sales skills and effectively managing a sales pipeline

Key Responsibilities

The Practice Leader will be responsible for building the membership, expertly managing relationships to understand member needs, liaising to initiate and facilitate connections amongst members, and leading program creation and execution. You must collaborate closely with the group's Member Services Associate to enrich the overall member experience. A key to your success will be getting to know members at events and virtually via group video calls and one-on-one phone calls. You will listen and understand the issues that keep them up at night. Bringing to bear your access, you will connect the members to expert help for these issues from within the community and other World 50 Group members or world leaders with vision. In addition, you will maintain an active "online" community within the membership that consists of members asking and answering questions, connecting directly with each other, and collaborating through our World 50 App.

  • Build creative, year-round programs (summits, regional dinners, small group discussions, conference calls, etc.) around members' needs and interests and pressing business challenges.
  • Develop agendas, guests, and subject matter themes to create fresh and must-attend business summits. Recognize trends, read everything, and talk to everyone to stay aware of the business and world leaders that would enhance extraordinary conversations and programs.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual member gatherings. Confidently command a live room or virtual room with equal aplomb, inviting members to share their points of view.
  • Serve as business editor for the group and create insightful communication pieces that successfully summarize the key findings from conversations.
  • Drive the health and growth of the membership community by retaining members, adding new members, and providing additional revenue-generating services and programs to existing members.

Key Qualifications & Proficiencies

We believe a successful candidate will be a dynamic leader for a small team of shared resources in a fast-paced environment. This is a great role for a strategic business developer comfortable working with C-level executives. You will have client relationship management experience, possibly developed through senior consulting roles, coupled with a hands-on style. (This role is similar to leading a franchise.) The ideal individual is able to interact as an equal to C-level executives without interjecting themselves as "the authority." The best Directors are credible and confident and keep their egos in check while facilitating influential conversations among the peer members.

  • Proven success in a variety of workplace cultures; some career experience working for a start-up company a plus;
  • Outstanding leadership, general management, and communications skills with the ability to work independently, as a leader of an energetic team, and as a collaborator with colleagues;
  • Thinks and acts with a creative, informed intelligence while demonstrating intellectual curiosity and emotional intelligence.
  • A tenacious personality in steadfast pursuit of excellence, capable of looking at every detail to build the most satisfied and engaged member group at World 50 Group.
