Job Title: Automation Engineer & Lab Technician

Location: Allen Park, MI

Job Description:

Automation Engineer

Automation Associate Engineer will maintain, install, and repair automated systems to increase

efficiency and reduce human intervention in addition to programing and operational cadences. Work

cross functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure production

equipment are running smoothly. Responsibilities are categorized into: Troubleshooting/Fixing,

Maintenance, Fabrications, Operation/cadence, and Programing.

Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting/Fixing:

- Diagnose problems and determine if they are mechanical, electrical, PC environmental or

scripting issues.

- Provide solution/fixes as well as documentation on how to prevent issues going forward.

- Participate in different scrums to remain up to date on technologies, cadences and priorities

based on operational needs.

Maintenance:

- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs.

- Maintain Inventory for all test peripherals.

- Perform PC monthly maintenance to ensure compliance standards are met.

- Asset Lease tracking and renewals

Fabrication:

- Fabricate harness following spec diagrams.

- Maintain/draw up spec diagrams that are applicable to various teams.

- Design, verify, and maintain electrical schematics.

Operational Task(s) / Programming (required):

- Knowledge of and/or the ability to work with, Python, Batch, and PowerShell.

- Ability to dive into codes/logs and highlight the point(s) of failures.

- Followup with code/components owners via ticketing systems for resolutions across teams

(Cross functional collaboration).

- Validate and implement fixes on demand.

- Create and maintain reports for Asset utilization, follow up with team regarding low

utilizations.

- Adhere to delivery cadences.

- Compile and send out daily reports, highlighting all issues and their individual/collective

impact on deliverables.

Minimum Requirements:

- Associate Degree + Relevant work experiences

- Clear and concise written/verbal communication skills

- Proficient with (Microsoft Office) with emphasis on EXCEL

- Ability to write Batch or PowerShell scripts on demand, Python is a plus.

- Ability to Debug Python codes / logs to root cause breakage.

- Knowledgeable of cell phone and navigation various operating systems

- Ability to read and draw up schematics specific to in house technologies.

- Comfortable with changes in direction

- Able to follow procedures and documents.

- Ability to be onsite 5 days a week.

Desired:

- Basic understanding of voltage, current, resistance and electric circuits.

- Working knowledge of electrical equipment / tools

- Python data parsing/ web scraping

- Self-motivated/self-starter.

- Proactive and energetic, problem solver

- Attention to detail.
