1. Linux System Administration:
Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) to ensure uptime and performance.
Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based applications and services (e.g., Apache, Nginx, MySQL, Docker).
Perform system patching, updates, and upgrades for Linux environments.
2. Windows Server Administration:
Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.
Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to Windows servers.
3. Virtualization Management:
Administer virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
Monitor and optimize virtual machines to ensure high availability and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual infrastructure.
4. User Management:
Create and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions across both Linux and Windows environments.
Administer and enforce security policies for users and groups.
5. Security Management:
Implement and maintain system security protocols, including firewalls, VPN, and encryption.
Perform regular security audits, vulnerability scans, and remediation.
Manage Linux and Windows firewall configurations and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
6. Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Configure and monitor backup solutions for both Linux and Windows servers.
Test and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Implement automated backup schedules and ensure recovery processes are in place.
7. System Monitoring and Optimization:
Use monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) to ensure system health and performance.
Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks in both Linux and Windows environments.
Optimize server resources to ensure optimal system performance.
8. Scripting and Automation:
Develop and maintain shell scripts, PowerShell scripts, and automation tools for system tasks.
Automate routine administration tasks to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
9. Storage Management:
Administer and troubleshoot storage solutions (SAN, NAS) for Linux and Windows environments.
Configure and maintain file systems, quotas, and storage replication services.
10. Troubleshooting and Incident Response:
Respond to and resolve escalated incidents, service requests, and system failures.
Perform root cause analysis of critical system issues and recommend long-term fixes.
Work closely with the L1 support team to provide guidance and training when necessary.
11. Patch Management:
Perform regular patch management and ensure that all Linux and Windows systems are up to date with security and software patches.
12. High Availability & Clustering:
Configure and maintain high-availability clusters in both Linux and Windows environments (e.g., Pacemaker, Windows Server Failover Clustering).
Ensure redundancy and failover mechanisms are in place to minimize downtime.
15. Networking Knowledge:
Configure and troubleshoot network-related issues, including routing, subnetting, VLANs, and load balancing in both Linux and Windows environments.
Work with networking teams to ensure seamless integration of server infrastructure.
16. Cloud Integration:
Assist in the management and deployment of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in both Linux and Windows contexts.
Monitor cloud resources and optimize for cost and performance.
17. Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for configurations, processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Document system changes, upgrades, and patches in a clear and organized manner.
18. Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, security teams, and application developers, to support overall infrastructure needs.
Provide regular updates and reports to the IT management team on system performance, issues, and project status.
19. Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
Assist in preparing for internal and external audits by providing relevant system reports and documentation.

Qualifications:
Experience: 4-6 years in a hybrid Linux and Windows Server administration role.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, MCSA, MCSE, VMware, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration.
Experience with scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
