Role - Senior SAS Architect

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SAS Architect lead with SAS admin knowledge to execute the upgrade of SAS environment to SAS M8 and architect the migration to SAS Viya going forward. This role requires deep expertise in SAS technologies, strong architectural design capabilities, and extensive experience in system upgrades and migrations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition, optimizing the SAS environment, and aligning the architecture with future business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
SAS M8 Upgrade:
Lead the planning, design, and execution of the SAS M8 upgrade, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to assess current infrastructure, identify dependencies, and define upgrade strategies.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies for the SAS M8 upgrade.
Conduct performance tuning and optimization post upgrade to ensure the system meets performance and scalability requirements.
SAS Viya Migration:
Serve as the key architect for the migration from SAS M8 to SAS Viya, including designing the target architecture.
Assess current SAS environments, including SAS 9.x and M8, to identify potential challenges and opportunities in the migration to SAS Viya.
Define and document the migration approach, including data migration, integration with existing systems, and validation procedures.
Ensure the architecture aligns with business objectives, scalability, and security requirements.
Provide leadership and technical guidance to the migration team throughout the project lifecycle.
Best Practices & Standards:
Establish and enforce best practices for SAS architecture, coding, and system management.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including data security and privacy considerations.
Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide expert level troubleshooting for complex issues during the upgrade and migration processes.
Collaborate with SAS technical support and third-party vendors as needed to resolve any technical challenges.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in SAS technologies, with a focus on architecture, upgrades, and migrations.
Proven experience leading SAS system upgrades, particularly to SAS M8.
Extensive experience architecting and executing migrations to SAS Viya.
Strong background in data management, ETL processes, and analytics within SAS environments.
Technical Skills:
In depth knowledge of SAS 9.x, SAS M8, and SAS Viya architecture and components.
Proficiency in SAS programming, including Base SAS, SAS Macro, and SQL.
Strong understanding of system integration, networking, and security within SAS environments.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their integration with SAS Viya is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
Leadership and project management abilities, with a track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects.
Preferred Certifications:
SAS Certified Professional: Advanced Programming Using SAS 9.4.
SAS Certified Architecture and Design Professional for SAS Viya.
"Expected annual pay for this role ranges from [$ 130,000 ] to [$ 150,000 ].
