Job Location: Redmond, WA
Validate Windows operating systems on hardware platforms including early OS releases. Design, develop, maintain tests and optimize operating system to implement hardware abstraction layers, OS services and user space software systems. Manage the full lifecycle of Windows OS environments covering installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning and security hardening. Deploy configure and maintain layered applications including middleware (e.g Apache, Tomcat) enterprise software (e.g. LDAP, My SQL, PostgreSQL) and security applications (e.g. configurations, firewalls). Implement automation scripts e.g. Bash, Python to streamline repetitive tasks maintain layered applications and improve system reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, analyse, and resolve OS-related issues. Conducting OS patching, upgrades and configuration changes to maintain system security and efficiency. Monitoring and optimizing system performance, capacity planning and hardware utilization.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and above. Proven experience in validating operating systems on hardware platforms. Deep expertise with Windows Client OS environments. Expertise in OS troubleshooting (Windows, Linux). Strong knowledge of layered applications, middleware and integration within Windows based environments. Advanced skills in automation scripting (e.g. Powershell, VBS) to streamline Windows OS management. Strong understanding of security principles and ability to apply these to Windows OS and application layers. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues in Windows OS and layered applications. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python. Experience with validation tools and techniques, including automated testing frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong knowledge of hardware platform architecture and platform technologies. Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.
Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $60,000 to $1,35,000 . Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
