The CIO Advisory business unit is part of Wipro's Consulting division where we address enterprise CIO's business challenges with guidance around key areas such as Enterprise Architecture & Strategy; Cloud Strategy & Advisory; Process & Program Transformation; and Technology Business Management. We are the front-end and tip of the spear when translating business problems into innovative and disruptive solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Managing consultant is a senior role in the consulting organization which reports directly to a consulting partner. They have key result areas associated with all four aspects of consulting i.e. Deliver, Sell, Thought Leadership and Practice Development. Managing consultants are 'Partners' in the making. They are expected to establish a brand for themselves in the organization, client community and industry and grow into Partner roles.
Typical day in a life of a managing consultant includes the following activities:
- Assessing IT maturity and benchmarking
- Creating strategic IT vision to better support organizational priorities
- Defining IT and Digital strategies, roadmaps and business cases for effecting IT vision / Digital transformation and aligning to recent business changes (e.g. Mergers and Acquisitions, Demergers, Business expansion etc.)
- Building IT operating models to align with the defined IT strategy and recent business changes
- Developing IT architecture strategies to support the technology strategy
- Driving IT cost transparencies, chargebacks and identifying initiatives to optimize IT costs
- Assessing and managing IT risks and technology debt
- Accelerating transformation through established technologies such as Cloud, Data and Analytics and emerging technologies such as AI, Automation and Gen AI
- Program managing the strategic IT initiatives to realize value from the developed strategies
- Driving interactions with key client and internal stakeholders
- Supporting data collection, analysis and insight relay to client teams
- Collaborating with other members in the engagement team and global teams to meet contractual commitments as part of the consulting statement of work
- Mentoring and lead junior consultants on best practices
- Developing high quality consulting deliverables and reports
- Enabling business development activities by participating in proposals and other go to market initiatives
- Enabling practice development activities by participating in collateral / accelerator development, building thought leadership and enabling hiring activities
