Role: Lead Engineer

Location- ADA -- MICHIGAN

Job Summary:

As a Level 3 Apple Engineer, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and expertise for Apple systems, infrastructure, and applications. Your role will involve resolving complex hardware and software issues, implementing and managing Apple solutions, and providing guidance and mentorship to Level 1 and Level 2 support technicians. With your deep knowledge of Apple technologies, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of Apple environments to ensure stability, security, and maximum performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for Apple Mac hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Resolve complex issues related to macOS, iOS, and other Apple operating systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain Apple Mac infrastructure and systems.
  • Lead the deployment, configuration, and management of Apple devices, including desktops, laptops, servers, and mobile devices.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for network connectivity, security, and performance issues on Apple systems.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, and best practices for Apple support.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 support technicians, assisting with complex issues and escalating cases when necessary.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Apple technologies, products, and industry trends, and make recommendations for their adoption and integration.
  • Conduct thorough research and testing to evaluate new software, tools, and technologies for Apple environments.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and execution of Apple -related projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to resolve escalated technical issues and coordinate maintenance and support activities.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in Apple environments.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze performance metrics and system logs to identify areas for improvement and optimize Apple Mac systems.

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in supporting and administering Apple systems, including macOS, iOS, and related hardware and software.
  • Strong knowledge of Apple technologies, products, and services, including Mac desktops and laptops, iOS devices, iCloud, and Apple Business Manager.
  • Proficient understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and VLANs.
  • Experience in managing and configuring mobile device management (MDM) solutions for Apple devices, such as Jamf or MobileIron.
  • In-depth understanding of Apple deployment methods, including Apple Configurator, Device Enrollment Program (DEP), and Volume Purchase Program (VPP).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and solutions for macOS, such as VMware Fusion or Parallels Desktop.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices for Apple systems, including encryption, authentication, and access controls.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Proven experience in leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams on technical projects.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Apple certifications (such as Apple Certified Support Professional or Apple Certified Technical Coordinator) are highly desirable.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, are a plus.
