• Perform firewall rule migration from legacy systems to new firewall platforms, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal impact on network operations.
• Analyze existing firewall rules and configurations, identifying opportunities for optimization and consolidation and create required runbooks.
• Work closely with security and network teams to develop and enforce security policies in alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
• Conduct thorough testing of firewall rules post-migration to ensure proper functioning, network connectivity, and security posture.
• Troubleshoot firewall-related issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime and security risks.
• Document firewall configurations, migration plans, and post-migration assessments for audit and compliance purposes.
• Stay updated on the latest firewall technologies, best practices, and industry trends, and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with either Checkpoint or VMware NSX firewalls, including rule configuration and policy management.
• Proven experience in firewall rule migration projects, with a focus on minimizing service disruption and maintaining security.
• Familiarity with network protocols, routing, switching, and security architectures.
• Experience with firewall monitoring tools and log analysis for security incident identification.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work under pressure and handle complex network security issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
