Job Description

Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly experienced Managing Consultant with over 15 years of expertise in IT Transformation and Sales within the Retail Industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the entire retail value chain, including Logistics & Supply Chain, Strategy & Planning, Merchandising, Store Operations, Marketing, and Consumer Experience. Thorough knowledge of Point of Sales (PoS) systems, with experience in implementing at least 2 or 3 PoS systems for retailers. Preferred candidates with experience in xStore POS, and knowledge of Frontier, Pekon, and other PoS systems. This role requires a strong grasp of the latest trends in the retail industry, such as Virtual Try-On and Virtual Fitting Rooms (AR/VR-enabled shopping experiences), and a proven track record in retail IT system implementations and transformations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage IT Retail Helpdesk programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering measurable results. Should have a good understanding of all the program governance aspects of Helpdesk.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of the retail value chain to provide strategic consulting and innovative solutions.
  • Oversee the implementation of retail IT systems, including Point of Sales (PoS) systems, Planning & Forecasting, Merchandising Systems, Intelligent Store Operations, Retail Global Helpdesk setups, Trade Promotions, Price Pack Architecture, and back office operations.
  • Documents SOPs for routine issues and drive innovation & optimization which are crucial aspects of program governance.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, including upselling and cross-selling offerings to achieve an annual sales target of $20 million.
  • Create Proof of Concepts (PoCs), Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, and new retail offerings to drive business growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key account leaders to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of retail IT solutions.
  • Provide thought leadership and stay updated on industry trends to continuously enhance service offerings.
  • Publish Points of View (PoVs) on the latest trends and developments in the retail industry.
  • Engage in high-level discussions with CXO-level executives to drive strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in IT transformation and sales within the retail industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the retail value chain, including Logistics & Supply Chain, Strategy & Planning, Merchandising, Store Operations, Marketing, and Consumer Experience.
  • Must have experience in handling Global Helpdesk programs for CPG / Retail Clients
  • Proven experience in implementing retail IT systems (Point of Sales systems, Planning & Forecasting, Merchandising Systems, Intelligent Store Operations, Retail Global Helpdesk setups, Trade Promotions, Price Pack Architecture, back office operations).
  • Thorough knowledge of Point of Sales (PoS) systems, with experience in implementing at least 2 or 3 PoS systems for retailers. Preferred candidates with experience in xStore POS, and knowledge of Frontier, Pekon, and other PoS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the latest trends in the retail industry, such as Virtual Try-On and Virtual Fitting Rooms (AR/VR-enabled shopping experiences).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to design innovative sales proposals, PoVs, PoCs, GTM strategies, and retail offerings.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing business opportunities.
  • Good understanding of key themes in the retail industry, including Intelligent Store Operations, Empower Workforce Management, and Enhanced Shopping Experience.
  • Experience working with global retailers is an added advantage.
