Managing consultant is a senior role in the consulting organization which reports directly to a consulting partner. They have key result areas associated with all four aspects of consulting i.e. Deliver, Sell, Thought Leadership and Practice Development. Managing consultants are 'Partners' in the making. They are expected to establish a brand for themselves in the organization, client community and industry and grow into Partner roles.
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced TBM Managing Consultant with a strong technical focus on Apptio to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Technology Business Management (TBM) and will be responsible for aligning IT investments with strategic business objectives, driving value creation, and facilitating benefits realization. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and business acumen to ensure that technology investments are effectively managed and optimized.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehend strategic business objectives and align TBM processes to support these goals.
- Facilitate use case and value reviews with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Track use case progress and value realization, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Lead the technical implementation and continuous enhancement of the Apptio platform, ensuring accurate cost allocation, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Design and configure reports, dashboards, and models within Apptio to support strategic decision-making.
- Enrich models and perform technical configuration to adapt to shifting business services, requirements, and data.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications within the Apptio framework.
- Recommend and implement business solutions that align with IT and business goals, considering the implications for the broader organization.
- Hunt sector-specific insights to inform technology investment strategies and identify areas for value creation.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data inputs into the Apptio platform, supporting effective decision-making.
- Design data models and manage data flows to ensure comprehensive and actionable reporting.
- Collaborate with IT, finance, and business teams to validate and interpret data for reporting purposes.
- Work closely with IT, finance, and business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that TBM processes and tools meet those requirements.
- Provide training and support to stakeholders on the use of Apptio and TBM methodologies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on TBM, particularly in the application of Apptio, and guide the organization in leveraging TBM for strategic advantage.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve TBM processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and value delivery.
- Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and advancements in TBM and Apptio to drive innovation within the organization.
- Enabling business development activities by participating in proposals and other go to market initiatives
- Enabling practice development activities by participating in collateral / accelerator development, building thought leadership and enabling hiring activities
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Apptio TBM certification, ITIL) is a plus.
- Experience:
- 15+ years of experience as a mid-level analyst with a focus on Technology Business Management.
- Extensive experience with TBM tools, particularly Apptio, including technical configuration, model enrichment, and report design.
- Strong understanding of business goals, IT operations, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Skills:
- Technical expertise in Apptio, with experience in data design, technical configuration, and model enrichment.
- Ability to understand strategic business objectives and drive value creation through TBM processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in facilitating stakeholder engagement and collaboration across IT, finance, and business teams.
