About the Opportunity
Wind River, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aptiv, seeks an Information Architect to contribute to the adoption of leading-edge technology by developing world-class documentation.
Wind River Cloud Platform is developed based on the StarlingX project. Wind River Cloud Platform is the infrastructure software stack for the distributed edge used by the most demanding applications in 5G Telecom Open vRAN.
Changes in market conditions have created an opportunity for the Wind River Cloud Platform to be used outside of 5G telecom. Wind River is looking for an Information Architect familiar with the enterprise use of cloud orchestration technologies such as OpenShift, Tanzu, OpenStack and SUSE Rancher.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with Wind River engineers and product managers to design the information assets that will enable Wind River’s cloud technology to be utilized in the enterprise space.
- Work in reStructuredText (RST) to develop new content, adapt open-source content, and update existing content to enable customers to install, configure, and maintain the product.
- Write user-centric, task-oriented documentation for development, deployment, and management of cloud-based systems.
- Interview subject-matter experts, participate in review meetings, and collaborate with technical writers and engineers in various geographic locations to create and update content.
Must have:
- Experience writing cloud orchestration documentation for the enterprise market.
- Experience crafting technical documentation design for specific markets and personas.
- Hands-on experience analyzing UX and translating that to documentation and product requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written skills in the English language, and good technical and communication skills (Minimum 8 years of technical writing experience).
- Experience creating technical documentation with markup languages (e.g. reStructured Text, markdown)
- Experience with the git environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently with colleagues across geographic locations and time zones (e.g. Europe and Asia)
Desired Qualification
- Experience using reStructuredText (RST) markup
- Experience or education in software programming
- Experience in the telecom industry
- Familiarity with open-source development
- Experience working in an agile programming environment
- Experience authoring with DITA
