ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 

This role is crucial to the company’s success as part of the Procure to Pay organization. As an Associate Purchasing Analyst, you will assist in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier coordination activities. Your work will support our team in analyzing company spending, developing supplier partnerships, and exploring savings/value opportunities.

 

As an Associate Purchasing Analyst, you will report directly to the P2P Director, work closely with the Procure to Pay organization and collaborate with senior managers and executives across the organization.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist in the execution of procurement strategies aligned with global goals and guidelines.
  • Work within the procurement team to support the achievement of high-performance results.
  • Help ensure a cost-effective and reliable supply of materials by analyzing demand, market trends, and supplier capabilities.
  • Participate in negotiations to secure value, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to ensure high levels of service and early involvement in projects.
  • Assist in implementing globally defined methods, processes, and systems to enhance process efficiency and compliance.
  • Contribute to the documentation and reporting of savings; assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business success.
  • Support supplier management processes, including qualification, evaluation, and development, to enhance procurement quality.
  • Assist in managing supply risk by helping to build a strong supplier base that aligns with company objectives.
  • Support the development of sourcing strategies in low-cost regions, as applicable.
  • Help manage supplier onboarding processes, aiding in the creation of action plans to expedite learning for new suppliers.
  • Leverage Aptiv Procurement network, where possible, and support close collaboration within.
  • Ensure compliance obligations.
  • Backup for travel and expenses position.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with vendors, service providers, and internal customers.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new networking and business relationship strategies.
  • Basic knowledge of vendor data processes and an eagerness to learn and enhance procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration.
  • An interest in procurement functions and willingness to learn about cross-functional activities.
  • Basic understanding of contract negotiations and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Strong decision-making abilities, with a focus on learning and growth.
