Job Introduction
To provide end-to-end technical expertise in support of the design and development of new products within the Americas region. To work cross-functionally to ensure that new packaging components and materials are properly specified, tested, and developed in line with the agreed quality, performance and delivery expectations of the overall project timeline.
Main Responsibility
Oversee the technical design and qualification of materials and components within the overall end to end project timeline.
Collaborate with both marketing and suppliers to ensure successful delivery of materials and components on time and to the agreed specification. Ensure that at the earliest stage of design, all requirements and risks for technical quality and performance are identified and managed.

Collaborate with NPD engineering in the review of equipment specifications needed to manufacture product; support technical reviews of supplier and factory capabilities to ensure that limitations are addressed or that designs are amended as required, and maintain supplier engagement by building robust relationships; partnering with Procurement to identify and qualify new suppliers as required.
Conduct feasibility assessment to provide initial COGs estimates on new products as well as product run out proposal & estimate write off costs on revised products as needed. Oversee all initial component production runs and determine if specifications can be met; develop and manage BOM creation and SKU costing processes ensuring stakeholders are involved.
Develop robust and detailed knowledge of WGS manufacturing capabilities in order to ensure consistent high quality manufacturing, and assist engineering in the development of all capital requirements needed to meet product requirements. Contribute to the design and development of new liquid formulations, as required.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to organise, plan and report on production trials, ensuring that prototypes are developed and evaluated at key stages and that materials and packs are qualified in line with testing and trial protocols.
Our Ideal Candidate
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in food science, packaging, engineering, or related field
Project Management experience desirable
Strong R&D experience (ideally 5+ years) from product ideation to scale-up in a food & beverage environment or within the spirits industry
Strong technical knowledge of the manufacture of components, gained from related experience
