Contributes to team success through a strong understanding of the team's technical area and processes, requiring little assistance from teammates. Demonstrates ability to take features and strategically break them down into understandable, workable units for WEX Health teams.

How you'll make an impact

Team Collaboration

  • Assist in replicating Service Request issues and provide feedback to resolve the issue.
  • Contribute to release night application validation activities.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC testing activities for assigned feature work.
  • Contribute in team conversations, meetings, and feature discussions.
Test Design and Planning
  • Review implementation requirements to provide meaningful, timely and critical feedback to improve the requirements.
  • Estimate and prioritize project requests across areas of the application.
  • Contribute to test plans and test cases for features and maintenance bugs requiring test coverage.
  • Strong understanding of test automation and contributing to the test automation suite.
  • Report required test metrics.

  • Review error logs in all environments in order to troubleshoot solution defects and environment issues.
  • Identify feature related bugs and performance improvements and create corresponding documentation.
  • Support major and minor production releases. Assists in troubleshooting and evaluating any issues that arise.
  • Efficiently and effectively produce high quality throughput.
Product Proficiency
  • Solid understanding of the primary product domain.
  • Basic knowledge of other product domains within the division.
  • Can provide peer reviews, advice, and/or problem solving in the product domain as needed.
Leadership
  • Willing to step into other roles, as capable, to ensure projects meet defined deadlines.
  • Serve as a mentor to others and help guide team direction.
  • Participate in multiple features or components from inception through the full product deployment cycle, including the integration, customer acceptance testing, release, and production support phases.
  • Advocate for critical code fixes for a feature area during triage as appropriate for the product release cycle, also able to negotiate when a code change is not in the best interest.
  • Identify areas of functional weakness and improve test coverage for those areas.
  • Work in a cross-functional team environment to ensure successful execution and delivery of project commitments.
  • Build relationships with other functional teams including software architects, business analysts, developers, configuration management, networking, and business operations personnel.
Experience you'll bring
  • Experience with manual test
  • Preferred degree in computer science or a related field
  • Effective in distributed team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with tools and programming languages defined by the development manager specific to the team
  • Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies
  • Solid knowledge in software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting stored procedures
  • Experience with automated testing tools, C# scripting, Python
  • Experience with Selenium
