The Trade Services Associate in Minneapolis Trade Operations is responsible for servicing Wells Fargo's strategic CIB and CB clients. The team's primary functions include document examination of complex and high dollar value Export Letters of Credit presentations, handling complex trade financing activities, and processing across several operations systems. This role will service the TradeAccelerate model and TradeAccelerate Hybrid model, whereby examination processing is supported overseas but the Minneapolis team owns the client service responsibilities. The team also handles new products and Swift Trade Loans that requires a significant amount of attention to swifts, requirement reviews, and constant communication with internal customers. The role requires providing customer-facing support and handling the outbound logistics of export LC documents destined for overseas banks. As a key escalation point for internal and external customers, this role performs a critical function mitigating risk to the bank and our customers, providing guidance and direction on matters pertaining to global sanctions, anti-boycott, and trade regulations. The role reports to the Manager of the Minneapolis Trade Accelerate team within Wells Fargo's US Commercial Trade Operations.
In this role, you will:
- Provide support in retention of existing clients and referral of international banking issues within trade services
- Issue, advise and direct collections in accordance with Trade Services standards
- Amend letters of credit and process documentation
- Identify opportunities for growth opportunity through client referrals
- Receive direction from leadership while developing understanding of trade services, policies, and procedures
- Process complex letters of credit documentation
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- 6+ months of Trade Services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of international trade experience or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of wholesale lending products such as letters of credit, leases, and traded products
- Knowledge and understanding of international trade operations
- CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) Certification Preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Strong analytical skills and outstanding problem-solving skills
- Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
- Fast and accurate keying skills
- Hybrid schedule, during training will be required to be FT in office
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Hours may change due to business needs.

$55,300.00 - $98,300.00
