This role will support the Tax Withholding processes with specific emphasis on federal and state tax remittance, account reconciliation, identifying risk and maintaining controls for all lines of business supported by the Tax Utility.

The position requires working closely with a number of different business managers and operations staff at all levels to help document current processes and address compliance needs; and to develop strategic and repeatable processes for the Enterprise Customer Tax Utility.

In this role, you will:
  • Support the daily operation of the Withholding pillar, specific to the remittance of tax withholding, account reconciliation and maintaining compliance of the controls within ECTU.
  • Demonstrating expert knowledge of federal and state tax withholding remittance and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all tax information reporting adheres to tax rules and regulations
  • Identifying tax risks within the Withholding pillar processes and controls. s
  • Work collaboratively with teams of tax, operations, system professionals, project managers and consultants.
  • Year-end production activities including reconciling tax withholding to customer 1099 and 1042-S statements, and filing annual tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state tax authorities.
  • Demonstrating expert knowledge of technical income tax and/or accounting discipline and positively influencing processes, policies and procedures consistent with corporate values and Federal / State laws.
  • Ability to independently evaluate tax issues and apply sound business judgment with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in information reporting environments including data capture, validation, production and distribution of management reports.
  • Demonstrating strong communication skills to communicate complex tax issues, opportunities and risks to non-tax experts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Prepare comprehensive tax work papers, perform account analysis, and prepare responses to audit requests
  • Research memos or correspondence and embody and model compliance and risk management requirements for supported area
  • Exercise proficiency in accounting and multi-jurisdictional income tax laws, rules and regulations
  • Perform basic income tax research
  • Maintain records related to income tax returns and reports
  • Provide functional advice to less experienced staff
  • Consult on income tax related matters with lines of business and other control functions
  • Develop relationships with assigned business units related to the collection and analysis of information important to income tax accounting or compliance
  • Work with business partners to collect internal financial or tax data, perform data analysis, test for accuracy, identify and resolve data problems
  • Participate in projects
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Corporate Tax, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in federal and state tax withholding regulations.
  • Knowledge of 1099 series, and 1042-S forms.
  • Experience in General Ledger account reconciliation.
  • Customer tax withholding and reporting experience.
  • Systems experience including: Hogan, Excel (macro, formulas, pivot tables etc.
