Program Overview:

The Strategy Rotational Program is an early-career, rotational program, focused on developing Wells Fargo's strategy talent foundation. Participants complete rotations on business strategy teams and make meaningful contributions in setting the strategic direction of the company.

The program provides individualized career guidance, customized learning & development opportunities, and unique on-the-job experiences.

As a Strategy & Planning Program Consultant, you will work to provide strategic advice and innovative solutions to Wells Fargo's core businesses, and their senior and executive leaders.

What the Strategy Consultant Program Offers:
  • Formalized, one-to-two-year rotational opportunity, with option to promote to Senior Strategy & Planning Program Consultant and continue progressing within the program. This position can be for a 1st or 2nd year Program Consultant.
  • Program is focused on developing future strategy and business leaders at Wells Fargo.
  • Participate in multiple rotations in core strategy teams,lasting ~8-12 monthseach rotation.
  • Develop subject matter, business, product, and functional expertise in matrixed areas of the company.
  • Advance both skill through formalized learnings and on-the-job training and development.
  • Develop a strong network of peers within and outside the cohort.
  • Develop a diverse understanding of how the company works and how investments are prioritized.
Potential career paths after completion of the program could include:
  • Advancement to a Lead Strategy Consultant and alignment to an individual business strategy team.
  • Advancement to a non-strategy role within the broader organization.
In this role, you will:
  • Perform a variety of job assignments to further develop key skills and grow a robust understanding knowledge of the organization and the financial services industry.
  • Lead or participate in business strategy teams with moderately complex and large-scale strategic projects and initiatives on a rotational basis.
  • Identify and lead the implementation of process improvement opportunities.
  • Direct the identification and proposal of strategic business, investment opportunities, and evaluation of identified opportunities.
  • Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational, or technical assignments or challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and exercise independent judgment to guide moderate to high-risk deliverables.
  • Identify, gather, and analyze appropriate data to inform recommendations and insights for lines of businesses.
  • Independently resolve moderately complex situations and lead project workstreams or teams to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding business requirements and subject matter.
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues and managers and interact with internal stakeholders by leveraging internal network.
  • Lead projects or serve as a mentor to lower-level staff.
  • Attend training, self-study assignments, workshops, networking, and other events.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills with prior experience working with quantitative and qualitative data to convey insights and trends to stakeholders to influence business decisions
  • Prior experience conducting competitor market research to identify trends and opportunities for business growth
  • Prior financial services, consulting, or strategy experience with strong knowledge and understanding of financial products and services
  • Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, remains curious and has a genuine interest in learning and growth
  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
  • Strong consulting skills with proven ability to assess stakeholder, partner, or client needs
  • Ability to evaluate risks and the impact of decisions on an overall organization
  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications, inclusive of presenting complex information to senior business leaders
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change driven environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Job Expectations:

Candidates must be willing to work out of either Charlotte, NC or New York City, NY. No other locations will be considered. Office locations listed below.

Pay Range:

New York City, New York: $120,000 - $144,000 annually

Charlotte, North Carolina: $100,000 - $120,000 annually

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$43,680.00 - $178,880.00
