About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Institutional Investment Operations Specialist.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in lifecycle support for institutional trade flow
- Manage client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, as well as, work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issues
- Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables
- Contribute to large scale planning related to process, procedures and efficiencies with internal and industry related initiatives
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
- Provide leadership to bring groups together to resolve multi-faceted complex issues
- Serve as a leader on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives
- Review and analyze complex functional and operational tasks that require in-depth evaluation
- Exercise independent judgment and resolution to guide the deliverable
- Resolve moderately complex issues
- Lead team to meet functional area projects, and process deliverables
- Leverage solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Mentor and assist analysts
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of CIB Market Products.
- Advanced knowledge of trade processing life cycle and its business functions
- Good knowledge of the reference, transactional and master data of investment banking.
- Understanding of client lifecycle activities, such as corporate actions including merger events.
- Knowing the industry and business context to align data insights with organizational goals.
- Understands Business workflows and their System of Records to document business requirements. Requirement Specification Analysis.
- Being a Techno Functional Business Analyst. Responsibilities of requirement gathering, conducting interviews with functions/processes, providing solutions.
- Expertise in eliciting, documenting and prioritizing business and technical requirements, address business challenges and develop actionable recommendations.
- Ability to independently research and analyze regulatory data including FINRA, QFC and Dodd Frank regulations and other financial documents.
- Understanding data types, lineage, structures, and sources (upstream/downstream). Ability to analyze data and identify trends patterns and insights to improve data quality and flow.
- Knows data pipelines and able to write business rules for the data analysts to construct the data as required.
- Evaluating data quality, questioning assumptions, and considering alternative explanations for findings.
- Strong capability to identify problems and develop effective solutions. Understand and document Risk and control assessments.
- Proficient in mapping and optimizing business processes to improve efficiency.
- Skilled in managing relationships with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication to convey complex information clearly.
- Strong Analytic ability, with high attention to detail, accuracy, and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate (written/verbal) effectively at all organizational levels.
- Ability to plan and organize workload within tight deadlines, meeting day-to-day objectives as well as longer term strategic goals.
- Understanding of project management methodologies to oversee projects and deliver results on time.
- Perform analysis of and make recommendations on functionality/efficiency of established controls and processes to ensure appropriate risk based operational procedures are in place and are meeting regulatory requirements/expectations.
- Familiarity with query tools like SQL, and proficiency in new age ETL and exception management tools like, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Xceptor, etc.

- 4+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a business-related field is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in Operations and/or Financial Services industry - in one or a combination of the following: Static Data Management, middle office, collateral, documentation, project management, Risk and control assessments, business operations, strategic planning in financial services, regulatory oversight, AML/KYC, US tax regime & compliance and SSI setup and client onboarding.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and adaptability to other software products.
- Knowledge in Business Intelligence Tools, User Acceptance Testing, Risk Management, Process Modeling, Change Management, Data Privacy Knowledge an advantage.
- Ability to research, compile, and perform complex analysis on critical operational data.
- Be highly collaborative and team oriented.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with impacted areas to understand complex problems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities in a high performance, high demand environment
