About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Securities Operations Specialist as part of Tax Reporting and Cost Basis team within Wealth and Investment Management Operations. The Senior Specialist will report directly to the COO's Brokerage Tax Operations Department Manager while supporting data analytics & solutioning for tax reporting and cost basis.

In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in moderately complex lifecycle initiatives and support tasks and act as a participant in large-scale planning and deliverables; identify opportunity for process improvements within Securities Operations
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational tasks or challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Independently resolve moderately complex issues on a full process within a trade environment while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor for lower level staff
- Manage expertise in the following operational processes including client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, and general ledger reconciliation
- Resolve moderately complex escalated issues within the scope of responsibility in Security Operations
- Research moderately complex business risks, influence policies, enhance customer satisfaction, and review time sensitive documents and transaction requests
- Exercise independent judgment in understanding trade settlement workflow controls to minimalize the effects of operational breakdowns
- Contribute to overall effectiveness of the team according to plans; monitor daily securities and cash related production work
- Lead or contribute to implementation of projects and new or revised processes and procedures that require coordination among operation teams and perform analysis for initiatives that support business strategies making decisions on matters with financial impact and risk
- Perform moderately complex data analysis to support and drive strategic initiatives and business needs
- Develop a deep understanding of technical systems and business processes to extract data driven insights while identifying opportunities for engineering enhancements
- Perform analysis of findings and trends using statistical and/or financial analysis, modeling, process documentation, profitability analysis, customer/demographic analysis, etc.
- Ensure adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies
- Develop customized reports and ad hoc analyses to make recommendations and provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff
- Assist in implementing Data Quality Controls across dimensions (Accuracy, Completeness etc.)

- 4+ years of Securities Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of Analytics experience including strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- 2+ years of advanced SQL/Python/Alteryx programing skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of database systems and data warehousing concepts
- Experience in gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets and aptitude for synthesizing data to 'form a story'
- Ability to identify in efficiencies and opportunities to improve the process
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex topics in an easy to understand manner
- Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions to streamline data analysis processes.
- Ability to utilize advance programming skills to extract, transform, and load data for reporting purposes, including relative experience with Teradata and Oracle
- Experience with RCSA process for implementing and managing system data expected output controls
- Eagerness and ability to learn new technologies and programming languages
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on reporting solutions for continuous improvement
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in report automation and analytics
- Develop customized reports and ad hoc analyses to make recommendations and provide guidance to less experienced staff
- Ensure adherence to data management or data governance regulations and policies
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule
- Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
