About this role:

The Senior Network Circuit Engineering team is hiring an engineer who would be responsible for designing diverse and resilient circuits, problem solving, vendor escalations and implementation of various high-capacity transport solutions across the Global Wells Fargo Network. This includes layer 1 and layer 3 networks, dark fiber, global aggregation, wireless technologies, colocation management, SONET ring decommission, etc..

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for circuit designs, carrier selection, circuit ordering, provisioning, implementation, carrier escalations and inventory.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and design for large scale network projects requiring complex layer 1 transport diversity. This includes circuit design and fiber routes, carrier recommendations, partnering with Supply Chain on RFP and contract negotiations, and financial analysis
  • Escalate both internal and carrier issues as needed to meet business needs
  • Manage private SONET and DWDM ring maps and assign/document carrier facility assignments
  • Manage carrier fiber build process including the procurement of space and power
  • Manage colocations and port assignments
  • Circuit test and turn-up
  • Demonstrate a high-level of professionalism and strong dedication to the success and on-time delivery of projects

  • 5+ year of experience working with telecom carriers and escalations
  • 5+ years of experience in network operations, network engineering or a combination of both
  • 3 + years of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio experience
  • 3 + years of Ethernet experience
  • 3 + years of Google Earth experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCDP, MEF Ethernet Forum are a plus
Job Expectations:
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven track-record of being able to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of carrier Ethernet products and technology
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of carrier technologies such as Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), voice/data network options
  • Knowledge and understanding of telecom: provider networks, hardware and software configurations, network infrastructure and design
  • Knowledge and understanding of telecom: products and services
  • Knowledge and understanding of telecom: circuit engineering, design, and deployment principles
