About this role:

Wells Fargo is embarking on a multiyear transformation journey aimed at building a centralized capability to store, manage and analyze Financial Crimes Compliance Operations (FCO) data to fulfill the Bank's BSA / AML regulatory, compliance and risk commitments. Wells Fargo is seeking a candidate with deep expertise in transformation, product, data, BSA/AML, operations, and technology to solve key strategic problems associated with the transformation effort.

The BSA /AML Data Transformation team will deliver to our stakeholders curated data products, which are valuable, understandable, and trustworthy (among other attributes) to our stakeholders, the Operations and Risk analytics communities. These products will directly support their ability to leverage Wells Fargo data assets for insight generation.

Success in this role will enable faster delivery of the program's objectives, which include standing up data products to drive our regulatory, compliance, and risk commitments. This role will report into the Director of BSA /AML Data Transformation and will partner closely with the Executive of Financial Crime Operations and the Director of Remediations and CTR Operations.

In this role, you will oversee a team which will:
  • Own and/or support a key product within the portfolio, which includes product design, story/requirements writing, backlog management, demonstrations, and engagement with users to understand needs
  • Build a solid understanding of the current state of the data and systems underpinning various business processes, e.g., screening data flows (PEP, Negative Media, Sanctions), Customer Due Diligence, Customer Exit, etc, across 5 Lines of Business
  • Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to document data flows, data elements, cadence/timing, systems of record / authorized data stores, lineage, and data transformation
  • Identify discrepancies across Lines of Business, and harmonize
  • Create and maintain data product roadmaps throughout the data product life cycle with detailed specifications, requirements, and flows for data capabilities; articulate project level priorities over the next 18+ months via objectives, key results, milestones, and benefits clearly defined
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to ensure data product solutions are built for optimal performance and design analytics applications across multiple platforms, resolve data product issues, and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a peer mentor
  • Liaise with other project teams to understand key interdependencies, shared challenges and opportunities, constraints, etc
  • Contribute to a data dictionary to help 'normalize' terminology across various lines of business
  • Gain buy-in from cross-functional teams; present recommendations to Director-level leaders across Ops, Tech, Product, Business, Controls, etc
  • Combine project-level roadmaps into program level roadmaps
  • Identify and escalate key decisions and trade-offs
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the modern data stack and experience with data and analytics technologies such as Teradata, Hadoop, Google Big Query, Tableau, Alteryx, Spark, etc...
  • Management consulting experience with a top tier firm, and/or significant experience designing and leading cross-enterprise programs, products, or strategies
  • Possesses executive presence, high energy, ability to manage complexity and a broad scope of daily work activities and stakeholders.
  • Experience working closely with senior and executive leadership.
  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to construct PowerPoint presentations for executive communications
  • Proficiency in SQL and Data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Financial Crimes certifications Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) or Certified BSA/AML Professional (CBAP)
  • Ability to execute in a fast-paced, high-demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities.
