About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Independent Testing Specialist.

The Independent Testing and Validation Team is seeking an Independent Testing Senior Specialist to support the CSBB & Emerging Risk Independent Testing and Validation team (CSBB & ER IT&V). Specifically, this individual will be supporting the CSBB & Emerging Risk. In this position, the individual will serve as a senior analytics and data testing resource. This position will report to Embedded Analytics Manager within the CSBB & Emerging Risk ITV team.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderate to high risk or complex review activities in a matrixed environment and communicate emerging risks to management within Independent Testing
  • Contribute to large scale planning related to Independent Testing deliverables
  • Review and research moderately complex potential corrective actions, and follow through on reporting, escalation, and resolution
  • Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs and controls according to standards and other applicable policies
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet Independent Testing deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk management framework and the risk and control environment
  • Collaborate and consult with colleagues, internal partners, management and lines of business regarding risk management

  • 4+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualification:
  • Minimum overall experience of 7+ years with relevant experience of 5+ years
  • Technology experience required: SQL, SAS, Alteryx (optional)
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets.
  • Ability to retrieve data from various information systems.
  • Good understanding of Risk and having worked on Risk Analytics projects
  • Experience in the technical build-out and/or support of databases, query tools, reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc. that enable analysis, modeling, and/or data visualization.
  • Experience translating complicated data from multiple sources into insight, knowledge, and understanding for our business partners.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability.
  • Ability to summarize and recommend new strategies/solution.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to research, trend, and analyze data.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, with various levels of management, including senior leaders and executives.
  • Experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk and Testing.
  • Critical Thinking and Analytical skills.
Job Expectation:
  • Perform detailed code reviews, identifying anomalies and other potential data quality concerns.
  • Utilize data analytics skills and specialized knowledge to independently research issues relating to data integrity driving to root cause.
  • Partner with testing team members to educate them on the data received and design strategies to analyze the data including creation of data subsets or calculated fields.
  • Document data acquisition procedures performed and summarize relevant system access.
  • Developing moderate to complex data analysis applications using tools such as SQL and/or SAS; developing data analysis applications based on existing routines; working on exception/trend analysis of historical information; assessing and accurately interpreting data analysis results; proposing solutions to root causes of identified conditions; navigating within technology environments to locate, validate, extract, and format data for data analysis.
