Finance brings together enterprise functions that drive Wells Fargo's financial management, including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, line of business finance, asset-liability management, treasury, tax management, and the company's investment portfolios. The Financial Accounting Senior Consultant will play a key role in leading and developing a small team, as well as leading and influencing across the enterprise, while functioning in a complex environment. This position presents accounting software proposals on complex issues to Senior Management, which requires strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to use data and other considerations to develop well-informed judgment to support proposals.

This position will support the Technology accounting team as an individual contributor in support of the new Cloud and Hosting Transformation Strategy and will interact routinely with business partners in the Technology Finance Center of Excellence team as well as Fixed Assets/AP, Supply Chain and the lines of business.

This consultant will learn how to support and lead within a large matrixed organization. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail who is ready to meet deadlines and learn in a constantly changing environment. The role will need to become familiar with technology accounting nuances and the Enterprise Software Policy with the focus on cloud computing accounting treatment.In this role:
  • Participate in review, analysis and documentation requirements focusing on cloud computing arrangements.
  • Act as liaison with Finance business partners on transformation strategy activities with representation of accounting implications.
  • Review, analysis and documentation of technology contractual commitments for accounting treatment accuracy including capitalization requirements specific to software, hardware, cloud computing and other technology-related service agreements.
  • Support tracking and accounting for software and cloud development and implementation costs.
  • Provides functional advice or training to Finance business partners on accounting treatment positions. Understand who our key stakeholders across Technology.
  • Contribute to performing a variety of analyses or projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems including ad hoc balance reporting.
  • Participate in month-end close and accrual reviews for propriety.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting demonstrated through work or military experience; or a BS/BA or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, or Business and 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting demonstrated through work or military experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting (system default)
  • Ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization (system default)

Additional Desired Qualifications:
  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4 public accounting experience.
  • Experience analyzing statement of work.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, Accounting Policy and technology accounting policy applications around software and cloud computing contracts.
Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$84,000.00 - $149,400.00
