About this role:
The Technology for the Chief Operating Office (TCOO) group provides technology services for the Chief Operating Office. This includes operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions and services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and the corporate properties group. TCOO provides technology solutions and manages application portfolios for these groups to support modernization and optimization.
Within TCOO the Platform & Application Services team we are seeking a Technology Director focused on quality engineering and environment management to be part of our production support organization to spearhead a major transformation. This leader will be responsible for building a best-in-class team, implementing innovative practices, and driving continuous improvement in reliability, performance, quality, and efficiency.

In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to improve overall software quality.
- Establish quality metrics and KPIs to measure and track improvements in software reliability, performance, and security
- Enable teams to leverage AI and ML in testing for predictive analytics, test optimizations, and automation at scale
- Ensure alignment of quality engineering practices with banking industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Drive the adoption of best practices for unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing in a banking environment
- Oversee the shift towards continuous testing within the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring it meets security and compliance standards
- Establish and oversee performance engineering practices across all technology teams.
- Work closely with development, operations, business, and other technology leaders to align quality initiatives with overall technology strategy
- Serve as the primary quality engineering advocate and subject matter expert across the organization
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure quality standards are met in all externally developed or managed systems
- Partner with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth deployments and high-quality software releases
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to streamline and elevate the management of lower environments
- Establish best practices for managing non-production environments (e.g., QA, staging, UAT) to ensure they accurately reflect production conditions
- Implement robust change management processes to ensure changes are properly tested and safely moved to production
- Oversee automation initiatives for environment setup, configuration, and maintenance.
- Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources
- 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 8+ years of experience and expertise in platform and application support within a financial services organization
- 8+ years of experience and expertise in incident prevention methodologies, risk management frameworks, and operational excellence principles
- 8+ years of experience and expertise in cloud infrastructure, containerization platforms, application monitoring tools, and security technologies
- 4+ years of Management experience
- 4+ years of quality engineering and testing experience
- Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a synergetic attitude
- Ability to develop and deliver effective, well-articulated, written, and oral communications (e.g., emails, presentation materials) applying appropriate level of content/ detail dependent upon audience and intent
- Experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen
- Experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions
- Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentations skills across technical and non-technical groups
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams in a high-pressure environment
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on proactive solutions
- Experience with Agile transformations
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation tools and performance testing tools
- Familiarity with cloud environments and modern DevOps practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Change Management procedures and tools

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
