Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Execution Consultant to serve as a Payment Network Expert supporting Merchant Services as part of Consumer Lending. The Payment Network Relationship Management and Strategy VP will work directly with the Payment Networks and internal stakeholders to enhance and extend relationships in alignment with Wells Fargo strategy. This individual contributor will support the day-to-day relationships, evaluate payment brand business/product roadmaps and develop business cases/implementation plans in partnership with stakeholders across the bank. In this role, you will:
- Support and enhance relationships with business and product leaders at the payment networks
- Understand the product and business roadmaps for each Payment Network and consolidate this information for review by merchant services product and business leaders
- Partner with stakeholders across the bank to evaluate and co-develop business cases and requirements for Payment Network related business opportunities
- Engage with Merchant Services leaders to understand ongoing go-to-market strategy for Small Business and Commercial/Corporate client segments and incorporate into overall payment network strategy and prioritization
- Partner with the product team to establish an internal merchant services product roadmap for all new payment network business initiatives
- Work with the brands and internal partners to address payment network related business, compliance and/or technical questions. Coordinate escalations, obtain answers, and generally facilitate issue resolution related to Payment Networks
- Provide input to Payment Network Update team on semi-annual releases and ongoing changes, provide subject matter expertise into mandate requirements, identify and communicate business and client related impacts of new network rules
- Monitor business programs and reporting for the Payments Networks including trend analysis, customer experience, operational metrics, and control environment
- Manage Payment Network incentive programs to effectively bolster product or market development
- Serve as an expert advisor to leadership
- 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of merchant acquiring experience working with payment networks like Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, etc. in a relationship management, product management, business development or payment network update manager type of role
- Previous experience working with payment brands, preferably within a payment network team
- Demonstrated project/program management skills and a proven track record for building and scaling programs
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills including navigating difficult situations, negotiating timelines, and influencing internal and external stakeholders across organizations
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze performance data both in real time and on a cumulative basis, and make appropriate recommendations to ensure success
- Ability to evaluate business opportunities and drive business cases including market research, financial analysis, technical and operational, client, go-to-market and compliance impacts
- Experience working in a strong controls and compliance structure including process mapping and development
- Working knowledge of Agile methodology of project delivery and Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as Confluence or Jira
- Experience building relationships, consulting, influencing and partering with LOB stakeholders, product owners, technology, business analysis, and other internal partners
- Highly refined communicator and analytical thinker, with experience presenting complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management
- Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule
- Ability to travel up to 10% of time
