About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Operational Risk Director.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide vision and set direction for Operational Risk teams to achieve long-term strategic objectives that impact organization and management across functions
  • Manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of a risk-based program for a business or large functional area with moderate to high risk to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or external events
  • Maintain a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency
  • Direct execution of major operational risk programs companywide or lines of businesses with significant risk and multiple, complex regulatory environments
  • Provide subject matter expertise across lines of business or directly manage enterprise controls for specific functional areas
  • Influence and provide input on policy, framework, and program development for related lines of business or companywide strategy
  • Ensure reporting, escalation, and remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding operational risk to leaders, committees, and appropriate executive management
  • Identify programs or initiatives related to line of business and enterprise strategy with considerable impact companywide and externally
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced leaders
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Manage communication and collaboration with business heads, Legal, Audit, and regulators on risk related topics
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Operational Risk
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Operational Risk experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Lead the identification, implementation, and monitoring of a risk-based program for a IP EF's and Legal entity emerging risks.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across operational risk to EF's
    Influence and provide input on policy, framework, and program development for IP EF strategy.
  • Ensure reporting, escalation, and remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding operational risk to leaders, committees (IPRC, Control councils, business meetings etc), and appropriate executive management.
  • Identify programs or initiatives related to line of business and enterprise strategy with considerable impact companywide and externally.
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more senior leaders (IP Head of HR, Finance, PA, Legal Head of strategy among others).
  • Manage communication and collaboration with business heads, Legal, Audit, and regulators on risk related topics

    IP Legal Entity oversight responsibilities
  • Provide oversight on IP LE initiatives/risks including change, growth governance, concentration risk, global delivery enablement (transitions),
  • Monitoring activities including IP owned issues, loss events, platform assessments, among others.
  • Primary ORBO contact for IP owned RAU's (governance and transitions).
  • Point of contact for multiple IP senior leadership team members (IP head of HR, finance, legal PA) along with operational risk SLT members (ORBO's, COORO, Capabilities and program, SERM ).
  • Driving and executing the governance and reporting for IRM Oversight for India & Philippines (IPRC, Board, PCC, ORGC ).
  • Provide operational risk oversight to IP strategy and enablement team involving transition management, change management, growth governance among others.
  • Drive development of IP integrated risk profile including tracking progress on monitoring routines and remediation actions if any.
  • Ensures reporting, escalation, and remediation of issues, deficiencies, or regulatory matters for IRM Oversight to senior leaders, Committees, and appropriate business management.
  • Create a macro IRM level view of top risks, issues, priorities, challenges, and events across both operational risk and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of IRM oversight and drive/ contribute to change projects and programs.

    IP IRM Governance and capabilities responsibilities.
  • Structure and drive the IRM Oversight governance and reporting (IPRC, Board, PCC, ORGC ).
  • Active engagement with IRM Oversight teams supporting various risk types to ensure appropriate alignment and prioritization.
  • Build and sustain a strong risk culture including a balanced approach through working in cooperation and consultation with all lines of defense across the enterprise.
  • Work across IP IRM team to develop and implement talent management practices in support of overall Corporate Risk and Wells Fargo vision objectives.
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for process improvement and risk control development within IP IRM team to ensure operational excellence and process efficiency.
  • Work with Human Resources L&D to ensure effective partnership and alignment with L&D policies and procedures and execute the Corporate Risk Learning Plan.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for effective execution
