About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Technology Business Systems Consultant to join The Enterprise Tax Technology Team within Shared Service Operations Technology (SSOT) Utilities. This position will be responsible for documenting and interpret business and functional requirements for complex, long-term tax technology needs. The candidate, in partnership with Tax SME's and LOBs will work to determine potential current and new solutions for various tax functions. The candidate will assist in identifying the right technology solution by gathering and reviewing business requirements, working with the technical architects to determine if a standard solution will work or if a custom solution is necessary. In their role as the primary interface between technology, Risk SMEs and the Enterprise Customer Tax Utility (ECTU) as it relates to solution implementation, this role will identify, track and drive technology delivery and concerns. The candidate will be responsible to maintain regular contact with leadership within Technology and the Business areas, driving high quality regular communications and appropriate reporting and artifacts.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex initiatives to provide technological solutions with broad impact for cross functional businesses and technology teams
  • Act as a key participant in providing strategic business solutions to companywide technology initiatives
  • Evaluate highly complex business problems and provide subject matter knowledge proficiency for technology initiatives
  • Define and lead detailed research on business and technology requests to develop efficient and accurate functional requirements
  • Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of domain and technology applications, and which influence companywide technology solutions
  • Lead project or systems documentation, and monitor and manage project schedules and deliverables
  • Collaborate and consult with business and technology teams to provide comprehensive technological solutions for complex business problems
  • Ensure communication and information flow between business and technology teams
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Business Systems Data and Business Systems Designing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of regulatory systems experience
  • 3+ years of strategic planning and development experience
  • 2+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools
  • 2+ years of Agile experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • XML (Extensible Markup Language) experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical documentation: creation of detailed design and technical artifacts
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical documentation: requirements, writing test scripts and executing test scripts
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology project management: large scale development projects, including data migrations and third party vendor integrations
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic securities accounting
  • Knowledge and understanding of IRS Form W-8, exemption codes, country treaty rates and IMY withholding statements
  • Knowledge and understanding of FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) or FACTA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act)
  • Knowledge and understanding of finance or tax applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act)
  • Knowledge and understanding of tax: reporting, filing, remittance, processing, initiatives, and strategies
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical tax withholding and reporting compliance (1099 INT, 1099 MISC, 1099-B, 1042-S, IMY Reporting to Beneficiary Owners)
  • Experience in tax operations, tax risk mitigation, or tax compliance in a large financial institution
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
