About this role:

Wells Fargo Consumer Technology Architecture team is looking for a Lead System Architect who is passionate about becoming transformational agents for the company. The Consumer Technology (CT) group plays a major role in influencing\defining the firm wide technology strategy and direction.

The Lead System Architect will be a forward thinker, passionate technologist, expert in modern technology practices, and has the experience to operate across the enterprise through understanding of available technology and tools. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment and possess excellent communication skills, sound judgment and reasoning skills.

  • Serve as a Product Architect in Auto Lending within Consumer Lending
  • Act as the primary technology expert working closely with both business and technology executives to develop technology strategy & architecture
  • Lead the implementation of complex projects and initiatives that have companywide scope
  • Assist in the creation of architectural artifacts for key technology initiatives
  • Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy
  • Identify medium to high architectural impact projects
  • Conduct complex technology and system assessments for architecture solutions
  • Communicate the companywide Architecture strategy and direction to both management and systems related teams
  • Make decisions in the development and maintenance of architectures
  • Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas
  • Ensure applications adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies and industry best practices
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • Act as a transformational agent for change across Consumer Lending
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Systems Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of experience in building/architecting solutions in Auto Lending or Consumer Lending
  • 2+ years of AWS/Google/Azure public cloud experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Auto Lending/Consumer Lending Products
  • Certification is preferred in at least one of AWS/Google/Microsoft public cloud vendors
  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to lead during times of ambiguity and change
  • Deep understanding of architecture best practices
  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture and designing Microservices with Domain Driven Design
  • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification highly preferred

  • Position will require onsite presence at one of the required locations listed below in a hybrid work schedule
