Wells Fargo's Financial Crimes and Regulatory Operations Technology Team is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer with experience using OpenShift and Kubernetes Container technologies. The Financial Crimes and Regulatory Operations Technology Team is responsible for delivering best-in-class platforms, services, and solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiencies for Financial Crimes and Regulatory Operations throughout the enterprise.

This role will drive modernization and innovation with a deliberate focus on enabling and delivering a cloud-native solutions.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide technical knowledge around microservice and container-based solutions while leveraging domain driven design principles and development driven testing.
  • Lead and drive others across the team to effectively deliver and transform the way solutions are delivered across the enterprise. The team effectively partners with business stakeholders and drives the requirements gathering, strategy, roadmap, and prioritization of work to deliver next generation solutions to our business partners.
  • Aggressive modernization milestones and deliverables tied to the hosting strategy, cloud strategy, and modernization roadmap are tied to delivery.
  • The Lead Specialty Software Engineer must adopt and support a culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving and openness.
  • Support complex engineering initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
  • Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature.
  • Ensure solutions are engineered to increase resiliency, operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk.
  • Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively.
  • Enforce the adoption and implementation of modern design principles, standards and companywide best practices for engineering and implementing large-scale technology solutions.
  • Leverage your understanding of industry best practices and new technologies to influence and lead technology teams to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
  • Work in a globally distributed team to provide innovative and robust Cloud centric solutions.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 5+ years' experience working with OpenShift and Kubernetes or equivalent hands-on enterprise experience with service-oriented design, development and implementation.
  • 5+ years of experience in building, deploying, and implementing new solutions at scale using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, VertX, Reactive programming or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience with modern Cloud Platforms & DevOps including, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Tekton
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of building and deploying cloud-native services, using Operator SDK and Helm charts, ConfigMaps, Secrets etc. and Service Mesh. Working knowledge of CloudFoundry and experience migrating apps from CloudFoundry to OpenShift/Kubernetes
  • 5+ years of experience in building, deploying, and implementing new solutions at scale using Java, .net or equivalent cloud-centric coding practices
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts, including tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Tekton
  • 3+ years of experience with monitoring, logging, observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, AppD, New Relic, Elastic, Open Telemetry)
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure setups
  • This role is expected to be an engineer with experience using OpenShift / Kubernetes Container Platforms.
  • The candidate should have experience in designing, building, and delivering cloud-native, micro-services-oriented solutions at an enterprise scale for large financial services or other large, regulated sectors.
  • Experience with Financial Crimes Operations such as AML, Fraud, and KYC.
  • Cloud certified engineer.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure.
  • Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
  • Experienced in implementing risk and control requirements for cloud-native solutions.

Pay for this role in TX, NC and OH is between $120,400 to $250,000 depending on experience and expertise.
