About this role
Wells Fargo is seeking a dynamic Lead Software Engineer to join the Portfolio Management Platform (PMP) team within WIMT (Wealth and Investment Management Technology), to build and enhance a world class, innovative portfolio management suite of tools, that delights our Advisors and Operations users. The Lead Software Engineer will provide application leadership and support to internal applications and integration support to vendor-built applications. The role requires technical knowledge of Object-Oriented programming and demonstrated skills in Java and front-end technologies.

In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives across the Product area, including those that are companywide with broad impact.
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
- Sound knowledge on automated testing frameworks for Unit testing for Java, UI, Micro services, Service Virtualization and Contract Testing, API Testing with Blaze meter/JMeter, & regression testing tools e.g. Playwright, Selenium
- Expert and champion on NFR aspects for mission critical solutions at scale and leading the software development teams and instrumenting backlogs with shift left practices.
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
- Lead projects, teams, and serve as a peer mentor.
- As a Design authority, participate in strategic discussions with architects and senior leadership.
- Work within a technical product team that is geographically distributed.
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 5+ years of full stack application development experience
- 5+ years Core Java development experience
- 5+ years with Spring Frameworks, Spring Boot, Hibernate
- 5+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services
- 3+ years developing Microservices.
- 3+ years of experience with JavaScript Frameworks including React, Angular, etc.
- 3+ years of solid experience in cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and API integrations
- 3+ years of RDBMS experience using Oracle DB
- Prior experience in Wealth management and /or Portfolio Management & Trading applications.
- 5+ years' experience with SDLC tools and processes including GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, Maven, Harness or Gradle
- 5+ years of Agile experience working in Agile environment and product backlog refinement against ongoing engineering work, Agile at scale, conducting discoveries and process improvements to accelerate software development.
- 5+ years of JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) development experience
- 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies such as PCF, Azure or GCP, Azure-Kubernetes experience
- 2+ years of Mongo DB experience
- 3+ years of experience in developing JUnit, JEST test cases.
- Experience with Kafka
- Knowledge and understanding of test-driven application development and BDD.
- Experience driving enterprise technology initiatives into scrum team partnering with engineering manager.
- Good understanding of AI/ML applications and implementations
- Good understanding of search algorithms such as lexical, semantic, etc., document parsing, indexing and Vector database
- This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule
