Compliance, Legal, Audit & Regulatory Technology (CLAR) provides technology support and development for Legal & Data Controls, Compliance Risk & Audit, Financial Crimes, Front Office and Second Line Risk, Employee Compliance, Regulator Regulations, Market Surveillance, and Regulator Change Management.

The successful Lead Software Engineer candidate will lead development teams to support legacy solutions as well as build out strategic solutions to meet technology standards, business needs, as well as design solutions with a focus on security, re-usability and automation in one or more programs. This role requires thought leadership and effective ability to shape and influence technology strategy adaptation, working with the business team and technology teams. The candidate should be familiar with Compliance and Financial Crimes domains and have demonstrated success in leading development teams to delivery.

Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:
  • Drives and participates in design, development and implementation of large and complex application, owning your solution through implementation.
  • Works closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs and that test plans and scripts meet customer needs.
  • Works with developers and business partners to understand application defects, performance problems and data anomalies.
  • Drives requirements and design discussions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Java experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading solution architecture projects
  • 3+ years of MS SQL server experience
  • 2+ years of experience with RESTful API calls
  • 1+ year of Agile experience
  • 1+ years of experience with SSIS
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Desire to work hands on with code at least 40%-50% of the time
  • Experience guiding junior developers
  • 3+ years of JavaScript framework experience (YUI, Angular, Node)
  • 2+ years of JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) development experience
  • 2+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience
  • 1+ year of experience with MicroServices
  • Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate for SharePoint migration projects
  • Data Analysis experience
  • Ability to gather and document technical requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure or GCP
  • An industry-standard technology certification in Microsoft, Java, or cloud technology
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Wells Fargo Software Engineering experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
