This role resides in the Marketing Channel Strategy group which provides marketing services to all businesses at Wells Fargo. The SEO team is responsible for delivering innovative insights and strategies to attract and convert traffic from search engines, in alignment with business objectives. This team performs consumer and competitive research, utilizes common industry-leading SEO tools, and partners with paid media, marketing, and business partners to create SEO strategies for 50+ web sites across the enterprise.

The SEO Lead will be responsible for performing research, creating search engine optimizations that will attract traffic to compelling experiences, measuring performance, and creating insights. This role will be aligned to specific lines of businesses.

In this role, you will:
  • Understand business/marketing goals and create search engine optimization strategies that are aligned to the business goals such as attracting & converting searchers into buyers/users, increasing our brand awareness, etc.
  • Utilize SEO tools, data and analytics, customer research and leverage SEO best practices extensively to create insights and data driven strategies and recommendations.
  • Perform keyword research, search behavior analysis, technical audits, competitive analysis, and content gap analysis.
  • Provide technical support including identifying crawl issues on site, structured data, social markup, sitemaps, etc.
  • Create on-page, off-page and site wide strategies/recommendations including meta data, site speed optimization, content strategy, information architecture, and more.
  • Create and maintain a roadmap of ongoing SEO opportunities/strategies for the business/marketing and track/measure implementation progress.
  • Measure business impacts of SEO implementations and identify post-implementation areas of optimization and actionable insights, partnering with analytics team and SEO agency.
  • Partner and collaborate with scrum teams, experience design, In-House Marketing Agency, external vendors, technology, and other key partners to influence implementation of SEO strategies.
  • Provide technical SEO requirements to digital, platform, vendor and business partners and ensure pages and experiences are built optimal for both content and code.
  • Partner with paid media teams to identify SEO/Paid search opportunities and present to line of business (LOB) partners; provide performance insights.
  • Support efforts on the SEO Center of Excellence roadmap including building processes, risk management efforts and SEO site wide capabilities across the organization.
  • Educate internal/external stakeholders on SEO best practices and advocate for development of site content & code that will maximize SEO value.
  • Build business cases that quantify revenue opportunities and socialize with leadership in support of growing the business.
  • Produce executive-level analysis/presentations for senior leaders that are compelling, concise, and easy to understand.
  • Strategically engage with, and present to all levels of leadership across the company, serving as an expert advisor on SEO data and analytics.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Marketing, Digital Marketing, Digital Platforms (i.e. Mobile or Social Media) experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience, preferred, creating recommendations to attract search engine traffic utilizing tools such as Ahrefs, SEMRush, Google Search Console, Google Keyword Planner, Google Looker Studio, Google Analytics 4 Reporting, etc.
  • Exceptional ability to translate search engine, marketplace, competitor and consumer insights and create SEO strategies that will deliver against business goals.
  • Expert technical SEO knowledge and ability to advise developers/coders, platform product owners, etc.
  • Exposure to paid search and an understanding of the dynamics of paid and organic performance and impact
  • Exceptional ability to create professional level slides/presentations with easy-to-understand KPIs and compelling story lines.
  • Expert knowledge of the most up-to-date SEO industry standards and best practices and emerging concepts and approaches including the use of technology (digital, social media, etc.) and their impact on SEO
  • Experience with financial services firm or varied, large/complex industry experience ideal.
  • Ability to think strategically with outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive, manage and successfully execute several major initiatives/deliverables simultaneously and prioritize effectively in an environment which has a continual sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal and presentations skills and ability to advocate and defend points of view to multiple levels and stakeholders of the organization (including senior leaders) in a manner that persuades, educates, and inspires action.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with extremely high skill level in Power Point and Excel
Job Expectations:
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Salary will vary based on work location.

New York City - Pay Range: $115,900 - 206,100 annually

Charlotte, Chandler- Pay Range: $96,600 - 171,800 annually

Actual salary is determined by location, experience and qualifications of the job.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$96,600.00 - $206,100.00
