As a Lead Scrum Master, you serve as a leader for your Product Area: you enable nimbleness and successful delivery of customer-centric solutions by actively coaching growth of agile skills and mindset. This role coaches the Product Area and its partners in good agile practices that focuses on delivering value, while guiding continuous improvement. You also facilitate productivity by identifying and assisting to remove impediments that may obstruct the pursuit of the goals.

The Scrum Master filling this role should have a technical background with proven experience in change management and not be afraid to raise issues and influence change while being comfortable with situations of ambiguity, conflict, and uncertainty. Your contributions in this role will be an important element of our agile development and delivery practice, helping realize our vision to continuously deliver customer value and improve the way we work.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage and develop Scaled Agile portfolios of the highest complexity
  • Serve as a lean champion and coach teams and stakeholders on lean agile principles
  • Oversee systemic impediments to team agility and guide the teams on methods to escalate
  • Deliver capabilities using agile practices while following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met
  • Partner with discipline managers to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering Managers to communicate delivery of work product from the teams and escalate key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Train, Mentor and coach other Scrum Masters and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff
  • Guide and Coach the team and organization on how to leverage Agile/Scrum practices and values to maximize the delivery of business value
  • Work with the team and organization to continuously improve by identifying areas of opportunity that will maximize the value delivered and happiness of the team
  • Advocate for collaboration, transparency, inspection, and adaptation
  • Anticipate and address potential or actual impediments to team delivery
  • Partner with product and technology managers to ensure team focus is on delivering the items with highest business value
  • Coach the team and organization to maintain a high level of data integrity (i.e. in Jira, Agile Team Registry, etc.)
  • Facilitate and/or participate in Scaled Agile Events (Scrum of Scrums, Feature Discovery/Refinement, Product Area Planning, Product Area Feature Review, and Product Area Retro)
  • Actively participate as a thought leader in the larger Scrum Master community
  • Build & evolve a reporting strategy that enhances collaboration and gives leadership a view of overall initiative & team health
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Agile Scrum Master experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ Years of Scaled Agile experience such as SAFE
  • 5+ Years of experience encompassing the ability to articulate steps and stages of SDLC in the context of a scaled agile environment, including inputs, outputs, processes, and tools.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Advanced knowledge of writing JQL queries, developing Rich Text Dashboards, JIRA Automation, and leveraging JIRA Plan with custom Views to conduct agile ceremonies, provide information radiators, and assess the health of a product increment.
  • Certified Release Train Engineer (RTE)

  • Must be based in one of the above locations or willing to relocate at your own expense.
