Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Science Consultant

In this role, you will:

This is a Lead Data Scientist role within the CIB Data organization, to build an Advanced Analytics capability. This will be a small, niche team of Data Scientists.

We are looking for an experienced lead data scientist for this expansion of capabilities, The ideal candidate will be one who brings in comprehensive knowledge of AI/ML skills along with a good understanding of CIB business and products.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives by utilizing data-driven, advanced analytical, statistical techniques, algorithms, or models to make actionable insights, trends, recommendations, including those that are cross-functional with broad impact acting as key participant in large-scale planning
  • Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term business, operational, or technical challenges that require in-depth hypothesis generation and advanced analysis of multiple parts, including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring an expertise in analytical thinking to resolve abstract business issues that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to drive recommendations and strategies based on data driven, analytical insights, trends, and patterns that will resolve issues and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a peer mentor
  • Execute complex analytical experiments and create innovative statistical models to discover solutions for abstract business problems across various domains
  • Interpret and analyze data, using advanced analytics modeling methods and programming, to recommend ways to solve problems and influence business decisions and strategies
  • Provide consultation to peers on data science best practices, methods, and tools to leverage
  • Communicate actionable insights and recommendations using data in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levels
Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in leading the implementation of analytics solutions
  • 7+ years of experience in design, development, deployment and management of Machine Learning and NLP models for various use cases
  • Data Analytics expertise in:
  • Building data pipelines to collect, store and process the structured and unstructured data for advanced analytics solutions
  • Data preparation (complex datasets), exploratory data analysis to assess the fitment of the data for the appropriate machine learning models
  • Leveraging statistical modeling for the betterment of analytical solutions
  • Building explainable AI ML & NLP models using supervised, unsupervised and deep learning algorithms
  • Advanced Python libraries, SAS, SQL, and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive or AWS services
  • Tools such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy/SciPy, Pandas.
    • Generative AI & LLM models.
    • Knowledge of visualization frameworks using Power BI and Tableau
  • Define and own the data science roadmap for the Advanced Analytics "Capability", working closely with colleagues and business stakeholders to ensure successful execution for our I&P operations.
  • Conceptualize, test and develop descriptive and predictive models using statistics / AI ML & NLP technologies.
  • Create and perform end-to-end analysis, including designing research methods, data extraction, processing, analysis, iteration, visualization, presentation of results to stakeholders.
  • Design and implement robust, production-level microservices & APIs to expose algorithms and models.
  • Innovate and design automation tools to drive internal processes and improve data quality.
