About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking for Lead Credit Risk Officer as a part of Wells Fargo's second line of defense and Independent Risk Management team, covers jobs which lead the design and management of a highly targeted independent credit review (oversight) capability to assess the quality of underwriting and ongoing management of credit risk within the Bank, including adherence to risk appetite, credit policy and regulation. May include jobs which approve and provide credible challenge to line of business credit products, programs, transactions, and policies, and participate in acquisition due diligence.

This role resides within the Merchant Services Credit organization and is responsible for executing underwriting efforts thru the credit life cycle for Commercial and Corporate Investment Banking clients. This individual will work in partnership within the Merchant Services program, third party vendors providing underwriting support, and multiple teams across the enterprise following Wells Fargo Risk Management Framework.

In this role, you will:

• Lead for Commercial and Corporate Investment Banking underwriting execution with direct responsibility of new account originations, portfolio management, and work outs for the Merchant Services program. Additionally, responsible for managing the credit approval process within agreed timelines.

• Work collaboratively with key Wells Fargo Bank partners including Client Management, Commercial and Corporate Investment Banking organization, Independent Risk Management, Credit Resolution (workouts), Financial Crimes, Audit, Legal, Compliance, and other units to drive relationship-based decisions.

• Work in partnership with Vendor Oversight team to manage third party relationships providing underwriting support to the Merchant Services program.

• Ability to manage/adapt to change supporting the advancement of new processes, strategies, and technologies to continue evolving to reach target state by building nimble processes to improve the customer experience.

• Support complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact and act as key participant in driving the company credit culture, desire, and business performance for Credit Risk.

• Review and analyze complex strategies, programs, and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture.

• Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

• Interact with internal and external customers.

• Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management.

• Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Credit Risk experience within Commercial and/or Corporate Investment Banking.

• Thorough understanding of Credit Risk, ability to review complex financial documents and contractual agreements.

• Strong knowledge of Merchant Services, Treasury Management Services and/or Card Issuing businesses.

• Ability to successfully manage production Service Level Agreements and consistently deliver quality service standards.

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner, both internally and externally.

• Proven ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fluid and evolving environment.

• Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.

• Demonstrated ability to assess current processes/procedures and make recommendations to add efficiency to existing processes.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00
