About this role:

The Wholesale Operations Control organization serves as the front line of risk and control management and is accountable for assessing and effectively managing all associated risks and controls for their respective groups. This team works to ensure internal controls, processes, and procedures are adequate and effective. This team works directly with executive management to understand the risks, exposures, and trends that impact the business.

The group also collaborates on projects and initiatives by providing support and awareness of risks and mitigating control solutions. As part of the Wholesale Operations Shared Solutions Business Control Management team, this role will focus on direct support of the Wholesale Operations Quality Assurance Senior Leadership and Accountable Executive, the Wholesale Operations Shared Solutions Senior Leadership, and the Wholesale Operations Control Executive and Control Director. This role will also focus on direct support of RCSA, Issues Management, ORKI, business enablement and other risk program initiatives for organizations under CIB Ops.

Successful candidates will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability; they will be impressive in their inter-personal effectiveness and with regard to their accomplishments. It requires a leader with strong relationship management, influencing, vision and execution skills. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement and output.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide alignment to one or more coverage areas across Wholesale Operations Shared Solutions (WOSS) including but not limited to: Quality Assurance, Reconciliation Utility, Third Party, Risk Programs and other lines of businesses supported for by the WOSS teams
  • Partner with the Wholesale Operations Accountable Executive, Control Executive, RAU owners and BCMs to identify RCSA Risk and Control rationalization opportunities
  • Work with Wholesale Operations Accountable Executive, Control Executive, RAU owners and BCMs to implement strategies to meet organizational measures of performance (ORKRI); in addition, identify areas to calibrate and automate
  • Leading cross Wholesale Operations Shared Solutions prioritized control assessments
  • Collaborate with BCMs in support of RCSA and Issues Management governance and oversight
  • Partner with business control managers and the business to maintain the business process inventory
  • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, technology and internal controls
  • Support of the inventory of business processes, internal testing, audit, regulatory engagements outputs and the integration with RCSA, EBCE, Trigger Events, and other core control functions as applicable
  • Collaborate with Wholesale Operations managers on control design, implementation, and monitoring
  • Assessing control weaknesses and operational risk incidents (OREs) using methods such as root cause analysis
  • Review controls for deficiencies and associated remediation (e.g., procedures gaps, rewriting control design and performance rationales to meet standards, rewriting MCR rationales to standards
  • Manage RCSA triggers, including the assessment of RCSA.
  • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, technology, and internal controls
  • Collaborate with Wholesale Operations to identify, open, monitor, close and validate all Issues, according to policy
  • Control Development: Control Documentation, control evaluation, control implementation and monitoring
  • Continuously engage in discussions with operations partners on strategy, industry trends, organizational changes, and new/modified markets, systems, products and services, to determine impact and identify and remediate risk control issues across all risk types
  • Contribute to team coverage of engagements such as internal audits, external exam and other control reviews. Ensure Operations awareness and preparations as applicable
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex current and emerging risks requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, as well as good understanding of data management and other operational risks
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk applications i.e. Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) and Service Now (SNOW)
  • Knowledge and understanding of internal controls and internal control policy
  • Experience with RCSA, risk/control identification and assessment, and enterprise risk frameworks
  • Strong domain knowledge of Investment banking operations is desirable
  • Ability to synthesize data and/or observations from a variety of, often disparate and unconnected, sources, deliver succinct summaries (both verbal and written), and enact responses quickly

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $237,100.00
