This business-aligned compliance officer role is responsible for independent compliance oversight of the Credit Card business, which offers products and services including cashback, travel rewards and balance transfer targeting a broad consumer base .

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as trusted strategy compliance partner to the Credit Card business, providing guidance, oversight and challenge to ensure regulatory compliance while enabling business objectives (e.g., interpret regulations, determine applicability and provide insightful actions.
  • Provide expertise on applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to the business (e.g., Reg Z, UDAAP, ECOA, FCRA etc.)
  • Advise business on regulatory expectations and best practices
  • Interpret new or updated regulations and regulatory enforcement actions to assess impact on Credit Card business
  • Review and ensure appropriate controls are in place to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Partner and collaborate with business, controls, corporate risks, and legal teams to integrate compliance into business strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory Change Management: Monitor, manage and implement regulatory change initiatives (e.g., CFPB, OCC, FRB) and assess their impact on the Credit Card business.
  • Issue management: (issue identification intake, tollgate, and Issue Closure): Role will provide compliance risk support to issues and provides timely advice and credible challenge to the business
  • Third Party Risk Management: Provide compliance risk advisory to the business by ensuring external vendors, service providers and other third parties comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. Activities include assessing processes the third party will perform for WF, assessing compliance risks associated with those activities and ensuring the third party meets the regulatory requirements.
  • Exam/Internal Testing support: Provide compliance risk support to internal and external testing teams. Activities include reviewing testing scope, providing regulatory requirements, reviewing testing workpapers, reviewing issues and working with the business to mitigate any identified issues.
  • Compliance Program Support: Assist in the development, implementation and enhancement to the Wells Fargo Compliance Program. Activities include support compliance or business-related governance forums, review, policies, procedures
Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of Consumer Credit Card products and/or industry knowledge related to credit card lending.
  • Experience interpreting and applying state, federal, and agency legal and regulatory compliance requirements specific to Consumer lending including but not limited to Regulation Z, Regulation B, Fair Credit Reporting Act, CAN SPAM, UDAAP, SCRA, MLA, and Fair Lending.
  • Experience in risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge and understanding of lending policies, regulations, and compliance
  • Active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring a risk-based compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or providing oversight to a compliance function.
  • Ability to review and monitor issues and corrective actions relating to regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong working relationships and coordinating with stakeholders to achieve goals

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00
