Investment Banking Program Associate - Sustainable Finance & Advisory

Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Program Associate to join the Sustainable Finance & Advisory ("SFA") business within Wells Fargo's Corporate & Investment Bank. In this role, you will support deal origination, transaction execution, and content generation. The ideal candidate must have a passion for sustainability , as well as knowledge of corporate and investment banking products (including lending, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, etc.). A strong work ethic, ability to research and generate unique content for clients, and a creative, team-oriented approach to solving problems is also desired.

Investment Banking Associates within SFA support deal origination, transaction execution , client advisory , and authoring whitepapers. As the business covers Banking and Commercial Real Estate-related products and services, Associates are expected to assist on a wide variety of transactions and work in partnership with colleagues across the Wells Fargo platform.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree or higher
  • 2+ years of sustainable finance experience
  • 2+ years of capital markets experience and/or M&A
  • Familiarity with sustainability-related topics, including ratings, reporting requirements, and financing
  • Experience evaluating and developing sustainability strategies, and providing recommendations for clients across a range of industries
  • Meaningful experience supporting the execution of live transactions with a sustainability designation in active leadership roles (left lead, sustainability agent)
  • Experience with investment banking product knowledge and technical expertise
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a demanding, highly focused, deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment, with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven client relationship skills and a passion for delivering results
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and serving as a positive role model for others is essential
Job Expectations:
  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Pay Range:
  • Base pay salary for this position is $175,000 USD
  • May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$138,500.00 - $287,600.00
