Wells Fargo is seeking an Investigations Director for Sales Practices and Conduct Management (SPCM) as part of the Chief Operating Office. Sales Practices & Conduct Management is a front-line operation responsible for managing allegation of employee misconduct effectively when they arise, reducing employee misconduct by sharing allegation insights with our business partners, and demonstrating understanding and empathy for the employees we serve. The group owns the Allegation Management Program and provides enterprise-wide coordination, management, and support of conduct functions, including sales practices, ethics, and insider threat.
Key aspects of the Investigator Director include, but are not limited to the following:
- Direct and lead a team of managers and individual contributors completing complex and significant investigations, often working closely with Employee Relations and Legal
- Provide leadership, communication, technical expertise, and direction to facilitate high quality investigations, case documentation, and reporting
- Set strategic direction and drive execution of risk-based investigations programs, including forensic investigations, customer impact, and sales practices events
- Present findings and outcomes to executive leadership across the enterprise, Internal Audit, and external parties
- Ensure a strong control environment is in place to manage operational, third-party, compliance, and reputational risk in all activities
- Drive process improvements and productivity initiatives
- Develop and manage department resources and expense budget
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop specialized teams of managers and individual contributors on high complexity issues and strategic priorities
- Lead Investigations team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues and meet high risk deliverables
- Provide guidance and implement procedures, controls, analytics, and trend evaluation to ensure execution and reporting of investigations activity across the enterprise
- Anticipate emerging issues and develop strategies to meet business needs
- Represent the organization in the external community, including regulators, auditors, and law enforcement
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- Proven experience motivating and navigating large teams through change
- 8+ years of Investigations experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of Management experience
- Proven experience conducting investigations to identify risk and non-compliance
- Build and/or managed large teams of 100+, preferably across multiple locations
- Strong written and presentation skills
