About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an HR shared services leader to lead the global delivery teams based in India and the Philippines that deliver HR shared services support for employees across the globe. Functions supported within the team include, but are not limited to - employee service center, payroll, workforce data administration, learning & development operations, benefits & leaves operations, performance management and talent operations, background screening, HR quality assurance and more.
A successful leader in this role represents HR Operations & Service Delivery (HROSD) within the regional Wells Fargo organization in India and Philippines and must also be able to effectively work in a matrixed organization with the global head of HROSD and global functional process leaders that sit in the US.

This leader will be responsible for ensuring the teams in India and Philippines are positioned to effectively deliver for the HR functions they support while also driving engagement, career development and community within the organization. The leader must develop and drive the approach for ongoing process improvement, efficiency and maturity of the organization and work delivered to increase value to Wells Fargo. This includes ongoing review of the functions and processes delivered, in partnership with global functional leaders, to identify opportunities to innovate, streamline and automate to reduce manual processing. The leader will regularly review service recoveries and customer feedback to identify and implement plans to improve the customer experience.
The role dual reports to the global head of HROSD in the US and the head of HR for India & Philippines.
In this role, you will:
- Lead a large organization working complex and/or specialized customer service and operations functions for all Wells Fargo team members.
- Provide vision and set direction for the HROSD teams in India and Philippines in alignment with global HROSD strategy and priorities.
- Drive overall performance of multiple operations business functions to achieve both short and long-term strategic objectives that impact organization and management.
- As part of senior HR leadership team in the region, shape and steward culture and employee experiences that will attract, inspire, develop and retain top talent.
- Represent One HR and provide strategic input on business strategy and ensure the integrated delivery of all HR services. Ensure cross-organization linkages to optimize resources and minimize duplication.
- Navigate, influence, and integrate with the overall global Human Resources operating model, priorities and practices to ensure global alignment while balancing regional requirements.
- Create a culture of high engagement and results-focus in a fast-changing business and/or regulatory environment through strong leadership behaviors and the demonstrated ability to hire/develop a diverse team of high-quality experienced professionals and supervisors.
- Collaborate and partner with peers, functional leaders, and senior leaders to develop highly complex, multi-year projects, strategies, and goals.
- Develop and implement strategic solutions to highly complex global and local business challenges, in partnership with global functional leaders.
- Lead a large team of managers, senior professionals, and specialists across multiple locations within region to achieve business objectives.
- Actively build relationships with international counterparts and drive initiatives to integrate the teams in India / Philippines with global teams from cultural and business execution standpoint.
- Develop and mature the organizational structure, routines, and staff to ensure effective delivery of work; coordinate subordinate managers and supervisors in selecting and developing staff to align with current and future needs of the organization.
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including peers and senior leadership.
- Effectively stabilize new bodies of work within 3 to 6 months post transition by way of ensuring proper on-ground training and execution of new processes by new team members based in India and Philippines.
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for operations
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency and improve the customer experience.
- Report on key metrics and SLAs to demonstrate effectiveness of services delivered (accuracy, timeliness, risk)
- Serve as escalation point for service recoveries and issues for work delivered by the India & Philippines teams to functional and local leaders, ensuring effective resolution of issues and working with functional leaders to remediate root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Be aware of regulatory and legal requirements to ensure operations are delivered in a compliant manner to mitigate risk to the organization and customers.
- Seek information and be connected to external organizations and insights to stay updated on changes in the industry to continue to evolve and improve the organization, processes and service delivery.
- 8+ years of HR Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 4+ years of management experience
- Proven successful experience in providing outstanding HR leadership as a trusted, business driven, results oriented leader of progressively more responsible HR Management experience and HR Business Operations, including international experience in a large global environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement HR strategic plans in a multi-location, international Banking GIC and high matrix environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with business partners, peers and team members. Multi-cultural sensitivity a must.
- Excellent consulting, collaborative, influencing and partnering abilities with business executives/leaders and HR partners.
- Must have good understanding of global trends and practices in HR Shared services.
- Demonstrated success managing larger HR teams in a global organization supporting global, US and local processes.
- Significant HR knowledge, including, but not limited to, culture and diversity, change leadership, organizational development, compensation, payroll, benefits, HRIS, employee and labor relations, recruitment, talent planning, and general management practices.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills: ability to effectively prioritize and enable others to focus on critical goals and targets.
- Strong execution skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Ability to lead in a complex matrix environment, encompassing a broad mix of cultures and client groups.
- Ability to manage time, balance multiple tasks and constantly work with changing priorities.
- Strong drive for results with practical, result/outcome focus.
- A seasoned, relationship-driven executive who will have the style and sensitivity to work within a highly complex business environment.
- Experience with in-house global captive centers leading HR services would be a distinct advantage.
- Professional qualification in a related discipline preferred.
- Comfort dealing with ambiguity and driving results.
- Self-motivation, analytical, problem-solving skills, and initiative to achieve desired outcomes.
- Leadership experience in effective development, coaching, and mentoring of individuals and large teams.
- Collaborative leader who will have the style and sensitivity to work within a highly complex business environment.
- Experience leading HR transformation with best-in-class practices, HCM (Workday) experience, and experience innovating and leading agile programs.
- Good understanding of global trends & practices in HR and an understanding of HR policies and procedures.
- Strong networking and collaborations skills with demonstrated success in change management.
- Lean Six Sigma or process improvement experience.
- Experience with Workday and ServiceNow platforms.
