About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of the Markets Negotiation Team. The primary responsibility of the role is to oversee and manage the timely and accurate negotiation of the various trading and master agreements for CIB-Markets. The agreement types include ISDA, CSA, MSFTA, MRA, Prime Brokerage, Futures, NAESB, and others. The role is also responsible for leading regulatory remediations for the Negotiation Team, leading process and technology improvements, approving terms, being a trusted partner with Legal, Credit, Operations, Sales and senior management, and overseeing the support functions related to documentation. This role reports into the Head of Client Delivery for CIB and is part of the COO organization.

In this role, you will:
  • Oversee and manage a global team and their timely and accurate negotiation of various trading and master agreements including ISDA, CSA, MSFTA, MRA, Prime Brokerage, Futures, and NAESB
  • Oversee and manage quality control, record retention and negotiation support teams
  • Lead regulatory remediations for the Negotiation Team, such as US Treasury Clearing
  • Coordinate with various departments, including Legal, Sales, Credit, and Operations, to establish improved templates, fallbacks, and streamlined approval processes
  • Assist in implementing technology improvements around document generation, workflow and terms extraction automation
  • Liaise with vendors for system or personnel support as appropriate
  • Manage and develop teams that direct the administration of policies and procedures which govern the documentation process
  • Provide strategic vision and direction for the group
  • Ensure the final negotiated agreements are documented accurately and adhere to corporate policies and procedures
  • Lead capital markets team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet industry standards and best practices
  • Work closely with Front Office, Legal, Credit and Operations to ensure an excellent working relationship with business partners
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Capital Markets Document Negotiation
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Capital Markets Document Negotiation experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Capital Markets Document experience with an expertise in ISDA, MSFTA, MRA, NAESB and other contracts.
  • 4+ years managing a team of direct reports, preferably within a Capital Markets Negotiation Team setting
  • Experience in a client facing role within CIB
  • Experience dealing with a variety of trading desks
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to think through solutions and partner with internal stakeholders
  • High degree of organization and be able to explain issues to senior management
  • Excellent written (including drafting) and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience implementing large process and/or technology changes
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field (JD Preferred)
  • FINRA Series 7 and 24 desired, but not required
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 10% or as needed
  • This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.
Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$173,300.00 - $359,900.00
