Wells Fargo's Global Operations team provides middle and back-office services for all five of Wells Fargo's Lines of Business (Consumer and Small Business Banking, Consumer Lending, Wealth and Investment Management, Commercial Banking and the Corporate and Investment Bank) and Enterprise Functions, across locations in the US, India and the Philippines.
Data, Analytics and Reporting (DAR) is the team leading the transformation of Global Operations' data and analytics capabilities, driving the modernization of our platform and adoption of ML and AI techniques.
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced leader to join the DAR leadership team to define and execute the roadmap to modernize our data environment.
In this role, you will:
- Work with stakeholders across Global Operations and Operations Technology to define and execute the Global Operations Data Roadmap
- Deploy firmwide Data Strategy and Data Management Program to Global Operations, including application of data governance policy, remediation, and data management tools
- Drive the modernization agenda for Global Operations data, ensuring data is fit for purpose for AI/ML use cases, both real-time and batch (e.g. machine-readable metadata, lineage)
- Oversee the exit of end-of-life data environments and manage transition to target state for data architecture, including migration to cloud
- Design and develop cross functional data products (capacity data, channel interaction data, workflow data, etc.) to be used by analysts across DAR
- Oversee or influence Product / Application Owners across DAR, Global Operations and in upstream SORs to execute data roadmap for data publishing and complete remediation of data defects
- Ensure adherence to data management and data governance regulations, policies and compliance requirements
- Ensure the completion of risk-mitigating activities including code testing, peer review, consolidation of similar recurring processes and reports, and best-in-class documentation (i.e. BRDs, FSDs) that is structured for consistency and is easy to understand by multiple levels of reviewers, partners, and regulatory agents
- Lead a team of data professionals and engineers in the day-to-day delivery of their work. Manage overall capacity, identify resourcing constraints and make decisions and/or escalate accordingly
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy across DAR
- 8+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, including Management experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management experience
- 8+ years of Data Management and Data Strategy experience
- 8+ years of experience building and managing data platforms (Teradata, Azure, Databricks, etc.)
- Experience setting and articulating data strategy and executing a roadmap. Able to prioritize within constrained resources
- Demonstrated technical acumen to partner effectively with technology
- Understanding of cloud-based data architecture, event streaming and deployment of real time analytics use cases
- 3+ years of building and operating data environments for regulatory reporting (data governance, BCBS-239, data remediation)
- Experience managing virtually, including leading on- and offshore employees
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong credible relationships with key stakeholder groups including executive management, regulatory examiners, and internal auditors.
- Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience attracting, retaining, developing, and motivating high performing teams that work well under pressure.
- Experience leading in a fast paced, demanding, and deadline driven environment
- Experience providing "credible challenge" to business partners, when necessary, with the ability to lead through influence in a matrix environment
- Ability to influence without direct authority, create and manage (while achieving results) large-scale change and influence people at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
- Ability to work hybrid work schedule o9f 3 days in office / 2 remote
- Ability to travel 1-2 times per month within the US
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
