The opportunity will drive the strategic development and execution of centralized compliance risk programs. This role is critical to shaping and enhancing CIB's compliance risk management framework, ensuring alignment with Enterprise risk transformation efforts, and partnering with business and functional leaders across CIB and the support functions.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with CIB businesses, bring a strategic mindset, leveraging their compliance expertise, leadership, and business acumen to oversee a portfolio of compliance risk programs in the front-line, drive organizational change, and consolidation efforts. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring partnership with senior stakeholders across CIB, Control and Compliance partners to strengthen risk governance, execution, and policy adherence across global teams.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage the CIB Front Line Compliance Risk Execution team
- Oversee the execution and enhancement of CIB's centralized compliance risk programs, driving operational excellence and risk transformation initiatives
- Partner with CIB business leaders, COO's, and Enterprise support partners to design and implement a front-line compliance risk framework that is integrated with the business strategy
- Act as a thought leader, identify risks, and proactively develop solutions to strengthen compliance oversight
- Provide strategic oversight execution on regulatory and policy requirements, including Reg W, Reg O, Reg K and other compliance programs ensuring adherence across CIB
- Serve as a key liaison between CIB and Enterprise Compliance functions
- Work with global partners and teams across APAC, EMEA, India and the US
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline compliance risk programs
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvements across the global team
- 6+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of Management or leadership experience
- 3+ years of experience as an acting leader in CIB as related to the business and or compliance functions supporting CIB
- 3+ years of experience driving large scale transformations with high impact across the three lines of defense
- Prior or existing Corporate & Investment Banking or related risk and compliance experience
- Experience operating at an Executive Director level, managing a team and leading with impact
- Ability to create relationships while navigating the regulatory, compliance and legal intricacies of working at a highly regulated business with multiple legal entities
- Strong communication skills and experience presenting to senior leaders
- A self-starter, with the ability to prioritize work and multi-task, meet deadlines, achieve goals and lead under tight deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Strong listening and communications skills with the ability to convey complex information and ideas simply and clearly
- Strong experience navigating a complex and large global banking organization
- Demonstrated experience around inclusivity in leading and the ability to bring along all key stakeholders into the strategy to ensure the business is operating within our risk framework
- Inquisitive and proactive mindset with the ability to think creatively to solve problems and anticipate potential questions and issues
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
